Ngayong ika-19 ng Hunyo, ating ginugunita ang kapanganakan ng ating Pambansang Bayani na si Dr. Jose Rizal—isang intelektuwal, manunulat, at tagapagtanggol ng karapatan ng mga Pilipino. Sa kabila ng mga hamon ng kanyang panahon, pinili niyang gamitin ang talino, edukasyon, at mapanuring pag-iisip upang isulong ang kapayapaan, katarungan, at pagbabago sa lipunan.

Ang kanyang mga sinulat ay nagsilbing salamin ng kalagayan ng lipunan at naging daan upang mamulat ang sambayanan sa kahalagahan ng kalayaan, dangal, at pambansang pagkakakilanlan. Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang buhay at prinsipyo, naipamalas niya na ang tunay na paglilingkod sa bayan ay walang kapalit.

Sa pagdiriwang ng kanyang kaarawan, nawa'y magsilbi siyang huwaran sa bawat isa—lalo na sa kabataan—upang itaguyod ang edukasyon, integridad, at tunay na pagmamalasakit sa bayan.
