Today, we honor our heroes. Not just those in history books, but also the Filipinos who live heroism every day—our frontliners, teachers, farmers, soldiers, workers, public servants, and every citizen who chooses country over self.

But above all, let us not forget the silent heroes—those who fight battles no one sees, whose service is taken for granted, and those who give everything so that others may live normal lives. They may not wear medals or make headlines, but their sacrifices keep our nation standing.

And sometimes, the ones we brand as kontrabidas may actually be fighting for us—far more than those who flatter, but never truly serve.

True heroism is not only in grand sacrifices, but in the unseen courage and integrity shown every day.

On this National Heroes Day, let us be reminded: the Philippines will always need heroes—and often, the greatest heroes are the ones we fail to notice.

🤝 Agarang Tulong, Walang Patid na Serbisyo mula kay VM Tanya

💚Mula sa unang araw na tumama si Bagyong Emong sa ating bayan, agad kumilos si Vice Mayor Tanya upang siguraduhin na may maramdaman na kalinga at tulong ang bawat pamilyang naapektuhan. 🚚💨

📍 Day 1 — Nagsimula na agad ang pamamahagi ng pagkain, malinis na tubig, at iba pang pangunahing pangangailangan sa mga barangay na matinding sinalanta.
📍 Tuloy-tuloy — Hanggang ngayon, patuloy ang pag-abot ng ayuda, hindi lamang sa pamamagitan ng relief goods, kundi pati sa pakikinig sa hinaing at pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan.

Hindi alintana ang pagod at haba ng oras, ipinapakita ni VM Tanya ang kanyang dedikasyon at malasakit para sa Bauangeños. Sa bawat pagbisita at pakikipag-usap niya sa mga residente, ramdam ang tunay na hangarin na makabangon tayong lahat mula sa pinsalang iniwan ni Emong. 🌊🌧

💚WALANG SAWANG PAGLILINGKOD MULA KAY MANANG B**G LEE | KAAKIBAT NG MGA BAUANGEÑO SA PANAHON NG PAGSUBOK 🤝

Walang tigil at walang sawang nagbibigay ng tulong at serbisyo si Manang B**g Lee para sa mga Bauangeñong labis na naapektuhan ng bagyong Emong. Mula pa sa unang araw ng sakuna, agad siyang kumilos upang maihatid ang mga pangunahing pangangailangan ng mga pamilyang nawalan ng kabuhayan at kabahayan.

📦 Pagkain at Tubig – Relief packs, malinis na inumin, at mga gamit para sa pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan ay naipamahagi sa mga pinaka-apektadong lugar.
🫂 Kalinga at Pakikinig – Hindi lamang tulong materyal ang kanyang inihatid; pinakinggan din niya ang mga hinaing at pangamba ng mga residente, pinaparamdam sa kanila na may kaagapay silang handang sumuporta.

As we welcome a new month today, our hearts remain heavy yet hopeful.

The past week has tested the spirit of La Union like never before. Typhoon Emong brought with it destruction, loss, and deep sorrow—but it also uncovered something far more powerful: the unshakable strength of the Ilokano heart.

We’ve seen neighbors helping neighbors, strangers offering shelter, frontliners working tirelessly day and night, and communities rising—mud-soaked but undeterred.

Let August be a turning point. Let this be the month where we rebuild what was lost, rekindle our hopes, and remind ourselves that no storm is ever stronger than our shared compassion and courage.

To those who lost homes, livelihoods, and loved ones—our prayers are with you. To the brave souls helping on the ground—your service is beyond measure. And to every La Union resident: your resilience is the very foundation on which we will rise again.

Tuloy latta , La Union. tumakder tayo manen. Together, we heal. Together, we move forward.

Government office work and classes at all levels are suspended on July 23, 2025, in select provinces due to continuous heavy rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (habagat). Affected areas include Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Palawan, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, and Negros Occidental.

Agencies responsible for essential services—such as health, public safety, and disaster response—shall remain operational. Non-vital personnel under these agencies may work under approved alternative work arrangements.

The suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective employers.

It symbolizes that this administration’s progress will not be left to chance, but will be deliberate, planned, and people-powered.

It speaks to the idea that great things can start from simple beginnings, and with the right vision and leadership, they can soar with purpose, no matter how modest the materials.
