During the February 9, 2026, Flag Ceremony, the UPright Marketing Organization - UPMO reminded the campus community that promoting health and well-being is a shared responsibility. Highlighting Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Good Health and Well-Being, UPMO President Trisha Mae Banaira emphasized that a healthy nation is the foundation of a strong and progressive society. Ensuring access to proper healthcare, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyles protects lives, strengthens families, and builds more productive communities.

In support of SDG 3, the Elektro-Lakas Marketista initiative was introduced to encourage students to stay physically active through sports and organized activities. Promoting regular exercise not only improves physical fitness but also reduces stress, prevents lifestyle-related illnesses, and enhances mental and social well-being. By fostering sportsmanship and teamwork, the university helps cultivate healthy habits that support holistic development at all ages.

As we continue our academic journey, let us remember that achieving SDG 3 starts with simple daily choices—prioritizing our health, supporting one another, and committing to a campus culture that values well-being. Together, we contribute to a healthier school community and a stronger future for our nation.

Highlighting unity through service, the Junior Financial Executives - Rosario (JFINEX) spearheaded the flag-raising ceremony on February 2, 2026, at Batangas State University – The NEU Jose B. Zuño Rosario Campus, with a focus on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger. The presentation delivered by Karla Gamboa, JFINEX President, emphasized the role of proper nutrition and food security in supporting students’ overall well-being and academic growth.

To support this advocacy, JFINEX launched “JFINEXtending Care,” a student-driven initiative that provides grocery assistance to students in need. The program reflects the organization’s dedication to fostering compassion, cooperation, and social awareness among students.

Through programs like JFINEXtending Care, JFINEX continues to inspire collective action, showing that simple acts of generosity can help build a stronger and more supportive university community.

The Circle of English Language and Literature Students (CELLS), under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Miguel Adrian B. Legarte, spearheaded this week’s Flag Raising Ceremony. The program began with a heartfelt recitation of the Panatang Makabayan, Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, Bagong Pilipinas Pledge, and the University’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. The students and faculty actively participated to foster unity, patriotism, and institutional pride.

🌍⚖️ Focus on SDG 5: Gender Equality

Chairman Legarte delivered a presentation on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 5: Gender Equality, emphasizing its dual nature as both a fundamental human right and a cornerstone for peace, progress, and sustainable development.
🔑Key issues discussed included:
-Persistent gender-based violence
-Unequal domestic labor distribution
-Underrepresentation of women in public office
-The worsening impact of these issues during the COVID-19 pandemic
-The message was clear: gender equality is not a woman’s issue alone but a responsibility of the whole society.

📢 Call to Action:

-Girls are encouraged to pursue education and embrace their rights.
-Women are urged to break barriers and challenge inequality.
-Men are called to stand in solidarity and actively support equity.

🎤 Voices of Her Story: CELLS’ New Initiative
To further strengthen this advocacy, CELLS proudly launched “Voices of HerStory: Women Writers and Advocates – An Online Seminar for Women Empowerment.”

The seminar will feature a Zuñoan writer and advocate who will share her personal journey of resilience, empowerment, and feminist advocacy.
Through literature and storytelling, she will showcase how the written word becomes a tool for justice, identity, and transformation.
Inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s words: “Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”

CELLS reaffirms its unwavering mission to advance gender equality, inclusivity, and empowerment. By amplifying women’s voices and reshaping societal narratives, the organization ensures that every story is remembered, celebrated, and honored.
