We, the Soroptimist International CalDeTaal, together with our partners from the Taal-Lemery Medical Society, successfully conducted a comprehensive Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar at Lemery Colleges and Lyceum of Southern Luzon, San Luis, Batangas.

With the theme “EARLY DETECTION: KNOWING THE SIGNS SAVES LIVES,” we aimed to empower students, educators, and community members with essential knowledge on breast health, risk factors, early warning signs, and the life-saving importance of timely screening.

Throughout the seminar, we emphasized the vital role that awareness and education play in reducing the impact of breast cancer. We highlighted how early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and encouraged participants—through expert lectures, interactive discussions, and practical guidance—to become advocates of health within their families and communities.

This meaningful endeavor reflects our unwavering commitment to promoting women’s health, strengthening preventive care efforts, and fostering a community that values education and informed decision-making.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Lemery Colleges, Lyceum of Southern Luzon, all speakers, participants, and partner organizations for their support and active involvement in making this advocacy-driven event a success.

We, at Soroptimist International CalDeTaal, are proud to share that we have officially entered into a meaningful partnership with PNP San Luis to strengthen our efforts in promoting youth safety, digital responsibility, and cyberbullying prevention. As advocates committed to empowering young people—especially girls—we recognize how crucial it is to guide them through the challenges of today’s online world.

Through this collaboration, we are dedicated to creating programs and awareness activities that equip our youth with the tools they need to identify, prevent, and respond to cyberbullying. We believe that, by educating students, supporting parents, and involving the community, we can build safer and more inclusive digital spaces where young people feel protected and valued.

With the support of PNP San Luis, we look forward to advancing our shared mission: to uplift, protect, and empower every young individual—online and offline. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward a future where respect, safety, and empowerment remain at the heart of our community.

A day of courage, awareness, and empowerment.
Soroptimist International CalDeTaal moved in full force today with two back-to-back missions rooted in one promise: to protect, uplift, and empower our community.

In Banoyo Integrated School, we stood with the youth to affirm that their safety is their right. Through our Safe, Smart, Strong session with PNP San Luis, students learned how to recognize abuse, understand their rights, and rise above cyberbullying — walking away wiser, braver, and more grounded in their worth.

Immediately after, we turned our focus to the women of San Luis and Lemery through our Breast Cancer Awareness initiative at Lemery Colleges — held in collaboration with the Taal–Lemery Medical Society of the Philippine Medical Association. Representing Soroptimist CalDeTaal was our Treasurer, Professor Warehn Manalo, PhD, Principal of Lyceum of the Southern Luzon – San Luis Campus, whose leadership amplified our message of early detection, informed choices, and the priceless value of every woman’s life.

Two programs, one heartbeat:
Empower the youth. Protect women. Strengthen the community.
This is the Soroptimist CalDeTaal way — service with purpose, compassion, and lasting impact. 💙✨

SAFE. SMART. STRONG.

Today, we stood with the youth of Banoyo Integrated School to affirm one truth: their safety is non-negotiable.

Through this partnership with Soroptimist International CalDeTaal and PNP San Luis, we empowered learners with the knowledge to protect themselves—on the streets, at home, and especially online. When young people know their rights, recognize the signs of abuse, and learn how to rise above cyberbullying, they walk taller, choose wiser, and live braver.

This initiative was made possible through the proactive leadership of Atty. Dianne, whose commitment to youth safety continues to pave the way for meaningful community interventions.

We also honor the unwavering dedication of Dr. Lyra Hernandez, President of Lemery Colleges, whose steadfast support and tireless efforts—especially as Chairman of the Adopt-a-PNP Program of SICALDETAAL—strengthen the bridge between education, protection, and empowerment.
