SIMULA: Embracing the Call, Inspiring Change, Shaping the Future
Last Saturday, September 5, the College of Education and Allied Sciences gathered to mark a significant milestone in the journey of the Pre-Service Values Teachers through the Values Majors’ Pinning Ceremony.
The ceremony began with the processional of the candidates, professors, and faculty, followed by the opening ceremonies and inspirational messages from our faculty and academic leaders. The presentation and reception of the Pre-Service Values Teachers led to the heart of the celebration—the Pinning Ritual, Candle Lighting Ceremony, Toast to the Calling, and Pledge of Commitment.
More than receiving a pin, we received a reminder of the calling we have chosen: to educate not merely through knowledge, but through values; to inspire change through our words and actions; and to contribute to shaping a future grounded in character and purpose.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and tokens of appreciation to our professors, a tribute through the song “SIMULA,” and a fellowship shared among the members of our academic community.
As we leave this milestone behind, we carry with us the responsibility that comes with the pin and the commitment we have made.
This is our SIMULA—the beginning of our calling as Pre-Service Values Teachers.
