The BatStateU Pablo Borbon GAD Office successfully conducted the program โDEFEND: Dignity and Empowerment through Fair Employment and Enhanced Nurturing Discussionsโ on March 18, 2026, at the Kaunlaran Hub, Gabriela Silang Building.
The activity officially began with participant registration at 8:00 AM, followed by opening messages from Dr. Daryl M. Magpantay, Asst. Prof. Shirlyne M. Guhit, and Dr. Expedito V. Acorda, who emphasized the universityโs commitment to gender equality and women empowerment. Mr. Erron Lawrenz M. Alfonso then presented the rationale, highlighting the need to address gender issues in health, workplace rights, and social protection.
A key highlight of the program was the panel discussion, which tackled womenโs health concerns, cervical cancer awareness, laws protecting women, and workplace benefits such as maternity leave, lactation support, and equal opportunities. An open forum followed, encouraging participants to share insights and engage with the speakers.
The program concluded with the awarding of certificates and closing remarks from Ms. Shaira Mae DJ. Andal, reaffirming the GAD Officeโs dedication to advancing gender and development initiatives.
