READ: Php 13.4 B apportioned to NBP under DICT’s 2021 proposed budget

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is poised to prioritize improvements in digital connectivity and access in the country as Php 13,491,357,000.00 was proposed to be allotted to the National Broadband Program (NBP) implementation for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021. In comparison, the budget allocation of NBP for the current year 2020 is Php 296,461,000.

“The call for faster and more accessible Internet connectivity has never been more immediate as we aim to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 crisis while preparing for the demands of the new normal under the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte,” DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II said.
