The CSBS Level 3 uniform is a powerful symbol of grit and dedication for future helping professionals. Our students wear it with pride, ready to take advanced psychology and human services courses and their upcoming practicum! ✨

📌 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Upon enrollment, all regular or irregular BS/AB Psychology and BHuman Services students classified as 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 (i.e., Regular – Third Year or Irregular – Third Year status) by the Office of the Campus Registrar are required to wear the white uniform at the start of each academic year.

📌 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: A two-week grace period from the start of regular classes (i.e., June 22, 2026) will be granted to students who encounter difficulties in purchasing, tailoring, or preparing their Level 3 uniforms. Students are expected to wear their uniforms at all times, especially during major course classes and practicum duties.

Lastly, in accordance with BPSU’s ongoing gender-inclusive mandates, the college permits students to wear the uniform set that aligns with their lived gender identity or s*x assigned at birth. 🌈

SOSECA Updates
Exploring career paths!

Last April 15, 2026, SOSECA held another successful event. As part of their commitment to guiding students and equipping them with the right knowledge, they helped participants prepare their resumes and take the RIASEC test. It aims to help students discover potential career paths based on their unique skills, interests, and aspirations.

This activity reflects SOSECA’s ongoing dedication to preparing students for the professions they choose to pursue.

On February 13, 2026, the BPSU College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) formally celebrated a significant academic milestone as it conducted its Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony at Lou-Is Resort and Restaurant in Balanga City. Guided by the theme “Embracing Service: Nurturing Minds, Touching Lives, Transforming Communities,” the ceremony marked the official transition of third-year students from the Bachelor of Human Services, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology programs into their clinical training and community internship. The event emphasized not only their readiness to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings but also their commitment to uphold professional ethics, compassion, and social responsibility in the fields of psychology and human services.

Inspirational and congratulatory messages were delivered by key officials of Bataan Peninsula State University, led by University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag. She was joined by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jaime M. Forbes, Director of the Quality Assurance Office Dr. Jesselyn C. Mortejo, and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Dean Prof. Ma. Fatima B. Bacala, along with members of the CSBS faculty, who encouraged them to carry forward the University’s values of excellence, integrity, and service as they begin their professional training. Adding further inspiration to the occasion, guest speaker Mr. Rommel E. Arellano delivered an inspirational address, highlighting the challenges, responsibilities, and rewards inherent in the helping professions.

One of the most meaningful and symbolic highlights of the event was the Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony, accompanied by their proud parents and guided by their mentors, the students received their pins, symbols of their professional identity and readiness to serve. The lighting of candles further represented the illumination of knowledge, hope, and compassion that they are called to carry into their respective communities.

As the ceremony concluded, it served not only as a celebration of academic progression but also as a reaffirmation of the values that define the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences: service, empathy, excellence, and community engagement. With hearts prepared and minds equipped, the future practitioners of BPSU now move forward, ready to nurture minds, touch lives, and contribute to the transformation of the communities they will serve.

𝗖𝗦𝗕𝗦 𝗽𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝗛𝗦 𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀

Pledging to contribute to Bataan’s limited social workforce, the inaugural batch of Bataan Peninsula State University - Balanga Campus Bachelor of Human Services (BHS) officially joined the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) annual pinning rites for the first time at Lou-is Resort and Restaurant, February 13.

A total of 22 BHS learners attended the ceremony alongside 393 students from the 10 sections of the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Psychology disciplines.

Prof. Rochelle Tiongson, adviser to the program’s first student organization, the Society of Service and Care, highlighted the college’s commitment to developing future practitioners in the Human Services field, which is currently offered by 12 higher education institutions nationwide.

“We are hoping na mas dumami pa ang enrollees natin [sa BHS]. We [CSBS faculty] are doing our best na i-promote ang human services, dahil kakaunti lang ang nag-ooffer nito,” said Prof. Tiongson.

“Very new siya sa bansa and sa region, so it is very relevant, and it also gives hope to the community through them [students],” she added.

Since its launch in 2023, the BHS program has had 91 students enrolled, spanning first-year to third-year levels in the college.

Meanwhile, CSBS Dean Ma. Fatima Bacala anticipated that the college’s newly–accredited Bachelor of Science in Social Work program would participate in the pinning ceremony within the next two years, further expanding the province’s social service capacity.

“Since first-year pa lang ang Social Work [students] natin, we are waiting for two years pa. So, ganoon din ang gagawin natin, ipapadala natin sila dito sa pinning and then sa community,” Dean Bacala remarked.

CSBS students who were recognized in the induction ceremony are set to formally begin their On-the-Job Training in May.
