Bataan Achieves Ideal Functionality in 2026 Child Protection Council Assessment
The Province of Bataan has been recognized for achieving Ideal Functionality in the 2026 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The recognition represents the highest rating in the assessment, highlighting the provinceβs strong performance in implementing child protection programs, policies, and services.
According to provincial officials, the result reflects the effectiveness of Bataanβs coordinated efforts in ensuring the safety, welfare, and development of children across all its local government units.
All municipalities and the lone component city of the province contributed to the achievement, with the exception of Limay, which received a Mature Functionality rating.
The provincial government emphasized that the recognition underscores the importance of sustained collaboration among local governments, national agencies, and stakeholders in strengthening child protection mechanisms.
It added that Bataan remains committed to further improving its initiatives in partnership with the private sector, civil society organizations, and local communities to advance the welfare of every child in the province.
