July 1 & 2, 2025

As part of the initial training of the new Color Cadets, the cadets underwent r***e training under the guidance and instruction of their assigned officers. Handling a r***e for the first time was more than just learning its proper position and movement; it became an opportunity for the cadets to develop discipline, focus, and responsibility.

Through repeated practice and close guidance from the officers, the cadets gradually learned the proper handling, positioning, and basic movements involved in r***e training. Every correction and repetition became part of their learning process, reminding them that every skilled cadet once started as a beginner. This training marked another step in their journey as they continue to learn, improve, and prepare themselves to one day carry the responsibilities of a future Cadet Officer.

The first week of training may only be about learning the basic facing commands, but every great Color Guard Cadet starts with the fundamentals. Every command, every correction, and every repetition helps build discipline, confidence, and teamwork. This is only the beginning of our journey, and with dedication and perseverance, we'll continue to grow stronger together. One command at a time. One step at a time.

In support of the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), the Baguio City National High School community actively participated in the nationwide preparedness activity. Students, teachers and staffs took part in the exercise to strengthen disaster awareness and emergency response capabilities within the school.

During the drill, participants properly executed the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure and followed designated evacuation routes in an orderly manner. The Color Cadets assisted in crowd management by guiding students toward safe assembly areas and forming a human barrier along the roadside to prevent students from entering areas exposed to vehicular traffic. Their presence helped maintain order and ensured the safety of participants throughout the activity.

The successful conduct of the drill highlighted BCHS's commitment to promoting safety, discipline, and preparedness. It also gave the Color Cadets an opportunity to apply their training and demonstrate their dedication to serving the school community.

I am Cadet Colonel Charles Michael Hilario from the BAGWIS-TANGLAW Class 2025-2026

This rank is not merely a title, but a testament to enduring discipline, unwavering commitment, and the resilience forged through rigorous training and demanding circumstances. Throughout my journey, I have faced intense pressure, countless hardships, and trials that have tested both character and resolve.

Through these experiences, I have learned that true leadership is grounded in discipline, integrity, and the ability to remain steadfast in the face of adversity. Every challenge has strengthened my sense of duty and reinforced my responsibility to lead by example.

I stand guided by a principle that defines our corps: no one is left behind. We advance as one unit, bound by trust, loyalty, and shared purpose.

This uniform represents not only authority, but service, sacrifice, and honor.

I am Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Amolar Elias Jophen from the Bagwis-Tanglaw Class, 2025-2026. Before joining the SHS Color Cadets, I had prior similar experiences in JHS Color Cadets and BSP, however nothing could have prepared me for the training I had experienced in becoming a fully fledged officer of the SHS Color Cadets.

My journey was filled with hardships that served as a catalyst for my improvement. Although it was difficult, I managed to overcome adversities with the help of the people who stayed by me and made me push my limits.

And now that I am officially signing off as the Lieutenant Colonel of BCHS SHS Color Cadets, I can now give way to future generations inorder for them to show discipline, integrity, and responsibility towards their schoolmates.
