In celebration of the 118th founding anniversary of the University of the Philippines, Ugnayan ng Pahinungód Baguio with the Office of Public Affairs spearheaded the UP Public Service Day composed of multiple activities on June 18, 2026.

After the commencement of the nation-wide earthquake drill, an opening program was held at the IB Lobby of the University of the Philippines Baguio. Attendees composed of esteemed guests from Department of Education Baguio, Springhills Elementary School, and Fort Del Pilar National High School. After remarks from Pahinungod Director Joao Paulo Reginaldo, OPA Director Roland Rabang, and UPB Chancellor Joel Addawe, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Philippines Baguio and Department of Education Baguio. Also part of the audience were senior high school students who signed up for the University Readiness Program.

After the opening program, the photo exhibit was officially opened to everyone showcasing images with stories of service embedded within them. The senior high school students were then accompanied by Pahinungod volunteers to Museo Kordilyera where museum staff, Clifford Gregorio and Patricia Evangelista gave an informative tour on the Cordilleran culture.

Together with the student volunteers, the senior high school participants then proceeded to the University Readiness Program. Volunteer lecturers, Kimberly Paglingayen, Rostum Alanas, Jethro Andrada, and Markneel Balgos each gave their invaluable review tips and advice according to their respective fields of expertise.

We would like to thank the volunteers of Pahinungod as well as the Museo Kordilyera staff for embodying the selfless service that the UP Public Service Day represents. Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the guests from DepEd and partner academic institutions for attending and establishing the MOU ensuring future activities for the welfare of students.
