Impact Week

Impact Week is a non-profit program that unites people from a variety of countries and organizations.

It promotes innovation and entrepreneurship skill-progression in developing and emerging economies as a foundation for sustainable growth. Impact Week is a new and unique event type
to create impact through innovation and
entrepreneurship. Impact Week connects young people from different countries and backgrounds
and empowers entrepreneurial thinking through methods of Design Thinking.

What a week in Bangalore 🇮🇳 💪

For the second edition of this program in India, we brought together 11 startups working on social and ecological challenges across the country, alongside mentors and coaches from different parts of the world.

During 5 intense days at Founder Startup House (formerly Draper Startup House) in Koramangala, founders explored everything from:

✅ vision-building and intercultural collaboration
✅Lean Canvas and market sizing
✅customer discovery and validation
✅fast feedback loops and real-world testing

But beyond the workshops, something else happened here.

A temporary space slowly turned into a shared ecosystem of conversations, mentorship, late-night reflections, new partnerships, and founders pushing each other forward.

One of the most valuable parts of Impact Lab is watching people arrive with ideas...
and leave with sharper direction, stronger connections, and a clearer sense of what they’re building toward.

Huge thanks to all startups, mentors, partners, and the entire community that made this second edition in Bangalore possible 💛

𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞? 🇩🇪

Yesterday we wrapped our first experience bringing this mindset closer to home.
We have always valued interculturality, working across different environments around the world to drive social innovation.

But this time, we had the opportunity to collaborate with partners closer to us,
and bring this way of working into our own context.

And what a great decision that was! ✨

During the Positive Impact Challenge in Freiburg, 8 teams worked on real challenges brought by social initiatives, improving digital products and services over the course of three intense days.

5 coaches from the Impact Week community were there to guide each team, but with one clear rule:

Coaches were not there to contribute to the solution.
Instead, their role was to hold the process, support the team, and create the conditions for the work to happen.

Sounds simple… we know. But in practice, it changes everything.

Teams of 4–5 students from Hochschule Offenburg, already familiar with Design Thinking, had to navigate the challenge themselves.

And that’s where the real change happens 🙌

We’re truly happy to have been part of this Design Sprint in Germany, and to keep building spaces for innovation and collaboration across different contexts.
We’re grateful to have shared this experience together with Social Innovation Lab Freiburg, Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, and the POSITIVE Horizon Europe project with support from Deutsche Postcode Lotterie and EU co-funding.

It started with a simple question:

Max first connected with the Impact Week community
through conversations with our managing director, Carolin Taenzer, in a coworking space.

Curious about the initiatives, he picked up his camera
and started capturing what was happening.

Today, he is a marketing volunteer at Impact Week Uganda,
and has even led a photography workshop for the SINA community.

Through his lens, moments become stories
and stories become something others can connect with.
