From the Shoreline to Service: Turning Action into Impact

The Jorge Vargas–Bago Eagle Scouts Association continues to show its commitment to community service through meaningful environmental initiatives. The recent activity at Batad, Brgy. Sampinit, volunteers took part in hands-on coastal efforts, showing how the youth can turn dedication and teamwork into positive action for the community.

Their commitment to protecting the coastline continues as the Association joins fellow organizations across Bago City for the International Coastal Cleanup on September 19 at 6:30 AM at Batad, Sampinit.

Through every collected piece of waste and every helping hand, the volunteers contribute to a cleaner coastline and a healthier environment for the community.

This verse reminds us that honoring our parents is more than simply obeying them—it is an act of love, gratitude, and faith. Their words may not always be easy to understand, and their ways may not always be perfect, but through them, we learn our first lessons about love, sacrifice, and life. 🤍

To honor is to recognize the hands that raised us, the hearts that worried for us, and the sacrifices made quietly so we could become who we are. In a world that teaches us to follow our own path, this passage gently reminds us that humility and respect should never become outdated.

May we grow not only in wisdom and independence, but also in gratitude—remembering the people who helped us take our first steps, while trusting God to guide every step that follows. 💙

September | Su***de Prevention Month

Sometimes, we never really know what someone is carrying behind a smile. A friend who seems okay, a classmate who stays quiet, or someone we simply pass by may be going through something we know nothing about. That is why a simple “Kamusta ka?” or taking the time to listen can mean more than we realize.

This September, the Jorge Vargas Bago Eagle Scout Association, joins the observance of Su***de Prevention Month by promoting compassion, understanding, and hope. It reminds us to look after one another and create a community where people feel safe to speak, ask for help, and know that they are not alone.

We may not always have the right words or know exactly what someone needs, but we can always choose to listen without judgment, show kindness, and check on the people around us. Even small acts of care can help someone feel seen, valued, and supported.

As Scouts, let us continue to live by the spirit of service by caring not only for our community, but also for the people within it. This September, let us listen, reach out, and be there for one another, because every person deserves compassion, support, and hope.

The 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐬 - 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐨 𝐄𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 proudly took part in the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 Kick-Off Parade and Opening Program on August 11, 2026!
Assembling at Bago City Hall and marching all the way to Bago City Gymnasium, we joined fellow LYDC member organizations in celebrating the power and potential of Kabataang Bago. Clad in our uniforms and carrying our banner high, we showed our commitment to service, leadership, and active youth engagement. As Eagle Scouts, we continue to live by our motto: “Be Prepared. Serve Others. Lead with Honor.”Together, we look forward to a week of inspiring programs and to building a stronger, brighter future for our community.

The valley may be dark, the road may be uncertain, and the journey may feel heavy, but there is comfort in knowing that God’s presence never fades.

Psalm 23:4 is a gentle reminder that even in the deepest and most difficult seasons, no one truly walks alone. His presence becomes a light in the darkness, a source of strength in weakness, and a quiet assurance when fear takes over. The valley is only a part of the journey, not the destination. Beyond every shadow is the promise of His guidance, His protection, and His unfailing love.

Where there is God, there is always a reason to keep going, even when the way ahead cannot yet be seen.

𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝟐𝟗:𝟏𝟏

Jeremiah 29:11 speaks of hope in times when the future feels uncertain. It reminds us that God sees the whole journey even when we can only see a small part of it. There may be moments when our plans do not happen the way we imagined, when we experience disappointment, loss, or long periods of waiting. Yet, these moments do not mean that God has abandoned us. 🌱

The verse teaches us to trust that God’s plans are greater than what we can understand. His timing may not always match our own, but His purpose remains. Sometimes, a closed door may lead us toward a better path, and sometimes, the waiting itself prepares us for what is ahead. 💗

Most importantly, Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that our future is not defined by our present struggles. Even when we feel lost, there is still a reason to keep going. God promises a future filled with hope, encouraging us to face tomorrow with faith rather than fear.

In the uncertainty of life, we may not know what comes next—but we can hold on to the belief that we are not walking toward an empty future. There is a purpose beyond what we can see, and there is hope beyond what we are experiencing now. 🤍

Small scraps can create big opportunities. Through the "Scraps to Riches" Project of the Finance Committee of the Jorge Vargas - Bago City Eagle Scouts Association, recyclable materials are given a new purpose by turning them into funds that support our programs and community initiatives.

Every bottle, can, paper, and piece of scrap collected is more than just waste. It is a step toward sustainability, resourcefulness, and service. Together, we prove that with teamwork and creativity, even the simplest things can make a meaningful impact.

Promoting Responsible Digital Citizenship

On August 2, 2026, the Jorge Vargas Bago Eagle Scout Association (JV-BESA) conducted Digital Citizenship sessions in Barangays Sagasa and Caridad, encouraging young participants to become responsible and respectful users of technology.

The discussions highlighted the importance of practicing good digital behavior, using social media responsibly, and understanding how our actions online can affect others. In partnership with the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), participants also learned about bullying and the importance of creating safe, respectful, and supportive communities both online and in everyday life.

Through activities like this, JV-BESA continues to inspire young people to become responsible digital citizens and community leaders, living out the values of Scouting through service, leadership, and positive action.
