🌱𝘼𝙣𝙞 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙉𝙐: 𝗨𝗦𝗚'𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻—𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲

𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣 | Before our harvests became tokens of appreciation for our teachers, the University Student Government (USG) first took part in the work that brought them to life.

On 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the USG visited the Negros Economic Development Foundation, Inc. (NEDF) Farm in Mansilingan for 𝘼𝙣𝙞 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙉𝙐, its community extension initiative. From hands-on harvesting to helping care for the farm animals, we gained a deeper appreciation for the patience and labor behind every harvest.

The produce we gathered was later shared with NU Bacolod’s teachers as practical tokens of appreciation for this year’s Teachers’ Day. What began as a day of learning and service became a meaningful way to connect two forms of work that nourish our communities: farming, which sustains us, and teaching, which helps us grow.

Through 𝘼𝙣𝙞 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙉𝙐, we were reminded that gratitude is made more meaningful when it is put into action—and that before we could offer a harvest in appreciation, we first had to lend our hands to the soil.

NU Bacolod students brought fun and energy to the NEDF Mansilingan Farm as they took part in a hands-on harvesting activity, from gathering fresh vegetables to feeding the goats and chickens.

The activity was part of their World Teachers’ Day initiative, “Ani para sa NU,” where the vegetables they harvested will be used to share and give back to their teachers.

Your empty bottle can still make a difference.

As part of our sustainability efforts, 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 encourages students and employees to properly dispose of and repurpose their used PET bottles.

Starting October 2, 2026, designated collection bins will be available at the NU Bacolod School Canteen.

Please remember to bring your bottles clean, dry, and empty before dropping them off. Collected bottles will be donated to NEDF to support its initiatives.
Let’s turn everyday waste into something meaningful—one bottle at a time.

Where Education, Arts, and Science Create Impact.
Where Service Leaves a Pawprint. 🐾

The NU Bacolod – School of Education, Arts, & Sciences (SEAS) Student Council, in partnership with SDAO and COMEX, will be conducting a Stray Feeding Activity on September 30, 2026, open to students and members of organizations and councils who wish to volunteer.

This initiative is a call to extend compassion beyond the classroom by coming together to provide food and care for stray animals in our community. Through this simple act of service, we hope to create a kinder community—one paw at a time. 🐶🐱💜

Guided by the core values of NU Bacolod and the NSTP principles of volunteerism, civic responsibility, and environmental stewardship, 𝐍𝐔 𝐁𝐂𝐃 𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐏 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 actively participated in the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 2026 held at Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City.

The coastal clean-up mobilized more than 1,200 volunteers from various government agencies, non-government organizations, academic institutions, and community groups, resulting in the collection of 3,124.74 kilograms of waste from coastal areas.

The activity highlighted the importance of collaboration and community engagement in addressing environmental concerns while reinforcing the role of NSTP students as responsible and proactive Nation Builders.

NSTP extends its sincere appreciation to Brgy. Banago, the Barangay Council, partner organizations, volunteers, and stakeholders whose collective efforts contributed to the success of this initiative.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the activity advanced 𝑺𝑫𝑮 4 (𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑬𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏) through experiential learning, 𝑺𝑫𝑮 14 (𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓) through coastal conservation efforts, and 𝑺𝑫𝑮 17 (𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒔) through multi-sectoral collaboration.
