⛰️I'd rather a mountain cabin than a beach house...

Have you thought about living in the midst of nature? I may not be doing that any time soon but I know for sure where I'd like to go. 😉

Ever since I had one particular weekend stay at a mountain cabin a few years ago, I haven't been much of a fan of visiting mountains. I would always prefer beaches (as the two would usually be the nature options here). Even day trips were unappetizing to me. This was mostly because of an allergic reaction I have towards cold temperatures (yes, it exists) I had developed in recent years. For the most part, it has been hard for me to remember the beauty of nature up there when all I've been thinking is all the potential discomfort from the cool air. 🌬️

In this recent weekend, however, may have been a turning point for me. My family and I were able to stay at another private mountain cabin (a really beautiful, relaxing one too). Yes, the experience still had its cold moments for sure, but thankfully (maybe because of the time of year), I was able to properly appreciate the mountain view and vibe with some adequate warmth. 🌄

Having all this access to so much greenery, flowers, critters and creatures, and fresh food among many natural elements, had quite an effect on me to once again love and embrace nature in all its forms, especially out here in the 'bukid'. The tinsy bit of hiking wasn't all bad either. 🏞️

Upon comparing our private cabin to a beach house, I've come to have an emerging preference for the former when it comes to fictionally building one in my head. It just seems the possibilities of having one are less scarce and I guess I just also want to stray away from impacting the nearby seas and corals anyway. On the upside, there seems to be more nature you can see in front of you and less neighbors and commercialization too! The hot and cold weather just balances out here as well throughout the day, much more satisfying than any beach place I've ever stayed at. It simply is just peaceful and cozy. 🌳

I guess I just really wanted to say how beautiful being in higher altitudes can be. You're often never short of nature. I urge you to try it sometime, be it alone or with loved ones... 😎

This is so cute🥰 My first earth hour event as a Sillimanian two years ago, I was also opening the program through song with a fellow volunteer... And now in this earth hour during my senior year, I was the one to close the jamming session this time - as if coming full circle once again in my Sillimanian journey🫶.
