The ๐๐ž๐ž๐ซ ๐…๐š๐œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ' ๐Ž๐ซ๐ ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ณ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง officially held its first heartwarming ๐†๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ฅ๐ฒ on July 21, warmly welcoming our newest Peer Facilitators into the organization! We are also proud to share that Peer Facilitators' Organization was honored with the ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐€๐๐ฏ๐จ๐œ๐š๐œ๐ฒ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ during Animo Nexus 2026! ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ…

During the assembly, our members had the opportunity to learn more about the organization, and most importantly, about themselves! Through the "๐ƒ๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐…๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž ๐Œ๐ž..." self-reflection activity, our Peer Facilitators have written a message to their future selves, transcending time to reflect, connect and inspire personal growth ๐Ÿซ‚โœจ

With all of the efforts, dedication, passion and teamwork that our dearest Peer Facilitators', our Animo Nexus booth became a safe place where we successfully promoted the importance of mental health awareness and advocacy among the student community ๐Ÿ’š

Every September, we come together to raise awareness on one of the most serious and prevalent contemporary issue โ€“ Su***de.

Su***de Awareness Month is a time where we shed light on the tragic impact of su***de and how it continues to claim 720,000 lives each year. It has no age, race, religion, nor gender and it can be the result of many struggles not only pertaining to mental health issues. This is especially delicate to students and peers who continue to endure their struggles in silence.

However, one thing is for certain โ€“ Su***de is a permanent solution to temporary problems, but so is the void it leaves behind in its shadow. Su***de is what stops us from dreaming of a future when we choose to end it all in the present and let the past keep hurting.

This month, let us break the stigma, spread hope, and inspire others to prevent su***de. Let us be the pillars of hope by recognizing signs, offering support, and connecting those to the proper professionals.

Yesterday's Psychological First Aid Training equipped our Peer Facis with the hearts to empathize and skills to comfort, care, and stabilize peers in need. They were taught the significance of their immediate response.

The training helped introduce the skills and information needed to facilitate proper first aid, which encourages access to support systems for students. It also allowed for collaboration amongst the members with the help of a case study, allowing them to put what they have learned into a simulated scenario.

New bonds were formed as they learned about the basic skills all facilitators must have: effective communication, stress-management, and conflict resolution through immersive games that required their combined efforts!
