Was Lily the Previous User of the Ope Ope no Mi?
This fascinating theory weaves together the Ope Ope no Mi, Imu’s mysterious Flower Room, and Nefertari D. Lily’s final act of defiance into one compelling narrative.
It begins by suggesting that the “D.” in Lily’s name stands for “Dream,” tying her Egyptian-inspired design to the Blue Lotus—an Egyptian dream flower that is also a type of water lily.
The symbolism goes even further when considering the Ope Ope no Mi’s ultimate technique, the Perennial Youth Surgery. Lilies are perennial flowers, capable of returning year after year even after the visible plant has withered, making them a fitting metaphor for eternal life.
If Lily truly possessed the Ope Ope no Mi 800 years ago, the theory proposes that she used its awakened “Room” abilities to scatter the Poneglyphs across the Grand Line, ensuring the truth of history could never be erased.
After discovering her betrayal, Imu allegedly captured Lily and forced her to perform the Perennial Youth Surgery. However, the theory argues that although Lily may have been placed under the World Government’s mind-altering Domi Reversi state, she still managed to assert her own will at the crucial moment—similar to how Gunko spared Brook in the recent Chapter 1186 flashback.
Rather than anchoring the surgery’s immortal “Room” to Imu’s body, Lily allegedly bound its permanent healing coordinates to a physical location instead: the Flower Room in Mary Geoise.
