Four days, countless lessons, and a journey I will always remember.
Taking on the role of a Practice Clinical Instructor pushed me beyond my comfort zoneโfrom planning and facilitating, to guiding students in meaningful learning experiences. It was a time of growth where I learned to lead with purpose and teach with heart.
Day 1 began with an online orientation, courtesy call, and initial discussions about the institution and its services for children with special needs. Even in a virtual setup, it helped establish clear expectations and a strong foundation for the days ahead.
Day 2 became more fulfilling as students engaged face-to-face and built genuine connections with the special children. Their patience, empathy, and adaptability were evident in every interaction, turning simple encounters into meaningful learning moments.
By Day 3, the passion to learn remained strong. Through reporting and evaluations, the students showed growthโnot only in knowledge, but also in confidence and communication.
In the 4th Day, I took on the role of a lecturer for our lecture demonstration as part of my experience as a Practice Clinical Instructor for Level 1 studentsโproviding them with foundational knowledge, clarifying key concepts, encouraging active participation, and building their confidence as they begin their nursing journey. In the afternoon, I handled another duty group, Level 3 Group 26, where I guided them through their learning tasks, reinforced essential concepts, and provided a short quiz to assess their understanding. This allowed me to identify areas that needed improvement, strengthen their critical thinking, and ensure they were well-prepared for their clinical responsibilities.
This experience reminded me that nursing goes beyond skills and proceduresโit is about inspiring others, creating connections, and making a difference in every life we touch.
Grateful for the opportunity to lead, to learn, and to grow.
