Our team recently visited the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to kick-start our social enterprise initiatives. We explored opportunities for training, product development, and improved packaging to help strengthen our upcoming projects.

We also had a quick side trip to the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), which turned out to be just as interesting and insightful. It was a great learning experience and a meaningful step toward building more sustainable and innovative community enterprises.

🌱 Program Update: Strengthening Our Holistic Scholarship & Feeding Initiative 🧡

As part of our commitment to grow and innovate, our Philanthropic Development Office Director is venturing into crayfish production as an added food security initiative and potential social enterprise. This will be introduced within the informal settlement, with the active involvement of families under our care.

Through this initiative, we aim to provide sustainable protein sources, create livelihood opportunities, and encourage hands-on participation as part of continuous learning and shared responsibility.

At the heart of our scholarship and feeding program is our belief that education is ongoing — whether formal or through practical involvement. Alongside academic support, we continue providing nutritional assistance to ensure our scholars are healthy, focused, and ready to learn.

We grow, we adapt, and we move forward together as a community. 🌿

READ | Sustaining Communities through Rabbitry: A Continuous Path to Food Security and Livelihood

In a recent seminar attended by parents under the scholarship program, participants learned practical skills in rabbit raising as part of their preparation for resettlement in new housing communities. The training highlighted rabbitry not only as a source of food but also as a sustainable livelihood that families can manage at home.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Resource Speaker, Mr. & Mrs. Artemio Veneracion of AVEN Farm, fondly known as the Father of Rabbitry in the , for generously sharing his knowledge and expertise.

Our sincere thanks also go to the San Pablo Apostol Parish - Tondo volunteers whose dedication and support made this activity possible, and to all the participants, especially the parents from the scholarship program, for their active involvement and commitment to learning.

Scholarship Outreach Program for Indigenous People (IP) Communities

As part of the program, we visited communities and conducted interviews with families and students. Their stories reflect both the difficulties they face and the resilience they carry. Many children continue their studies despite heavy family responsibilities, illnesses in the household, and the financial struggles of parents striving to provide. Some have to care for younger siblings, while others sacrifice personal needs just to stay in school.

Their perseverance reflects not only their resilience but also their deep desire for a better future—reminding us of the importance of our mission: education for all.
