There are few things sweeter than hearing children praise the Lord in song. These are the lyrics of a song the students sang at our Easter program.

Building in PNG comes with challenges before the "work" ever starts.  The first problem faced is whether or not you can find or purchase the supplies.  There are times where supplies are just not available. The second issue is the transport of the supplies to our village.  When we consider the t...

It is a national holiday here in PNG. It is the fifth anniversary of the passing of Sir Michael T. Somare, founding father of PNG.
OIPNG was asked by the Keram LLG to apply for a minor works project to maintain a classroom in Samban in 2014. After looking at the building it was deemed cheaper to just take the old building down and build a new one in its place.
After the classroom was completed the opening ceremony was held and Sir Michael T. Somare cut the ribbon on the new classroom.
It was an amazing honor to have the first prime minister of PNG and the current governor of the East Sepik cut the ribbon on a project we built.
It was a special day in the history of OIPNG.

A simple case of malaria treated quickly rarely causes problems for us here in PNG.  However it does weaken you for a while. Viruses, however, are opportunistic. When our community health worker, Wona, was recovering from a normal case of malaria she caught a virus that was going around.  Whether...

We would like to thank Papindo for donating school desks and chairs to Samban Central Elementary School and Keram International Christian School. This is a timely gift since school is starting and many students would’ve been without a desk or a chair. Since we are a four hour PMV ride from town plus an additional three hours by boat or motor canoe the desks and chairs had quite a trip to make it to the destination. Nevertheless, we are thankful for Papindos generosity for giving these items to the school for the students use. We are grateful to have these tools provided to assist with the students education.

November was a busy month with a lot of concrete work. Jesse and his crew have made cement stairs, walkways, foundations and floors. All the sand and concrete has come from town; a days travel away. Getting everything to the village is very labor intensive and everyone is very careful to use the res...
