BENEFITS OF PNGTA WELFARE FUND
It's always very sad and in a sense very fustrating when one of our colleagues passes on silently in their little corners without much attention or recognition from our authorities when we should be given the best farewell ceremony regardless of our rank and file, long or short service,, urban or rural and remote location,, a fair and just funeral arrangements and farewell is all we want but it's always a dream.
I have witnessed many of our comrades passed on and the Provincial authorities,, the Districts,, the National Department and even our Union don't have anything in place to cater for such ,, it's always the immediate family members,, the teachers and students and the surrounding communities who really show their full respect in organising and farewelling their teacher.
This has and is truly sad.
Teachers,, we already have a Teachers Welfare Fund in place to cater for such emergencies. It has been in operation for 28 years now,, it is open to ALL teachers to join but you must also be the member to our Union PNGTA.
It's benefits are very good,, it's an Insurance company within the Union purposely to support teachers in such times. It's K30 fortnightly deduction only. That shall cover all your family members (your spouse and children)
Some members to the union are not members to the fund must fill in the membership forms to qualify for the benefits.
For more information,, contact your Branch office or our Regional office in Hagen .
These benefits are different from your Nambawan super entitlements.
