HIV TESTING IS QUICK, FREE & CONFIDENTIAL

We had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Jason Mitchell, Interim Lead of SRH and HIV Unit Fiji, and he did not hold back. 🎙️

"Our systems are what needs to change for us to effectively address HIV. When we directly fix wider systems that affect our people's day to day life, the response flows with it."

Translation? Individual awareness is not enough if the systems around us are broken. If people cannot afford healthcare, if stigma lives inside the very institutions meant to help us, if policies leave communities behind, then no amount of campaigns will fix what needs structural change.

The response starts at the top. And it filters all the way down to us. 🌏

Change the systems. FOR THEM. ❤️

Young People Speak Up FOR THEM ✊

Adi Akanisi Naibena, USP Student and proud Fijian National, saying the thing nobody wants to say. 🎙️

"In our cultures HIV is a taboo topic, there is a culture of silence. We need to respect our cultures, but break the silence."

And she is right. We grew up knowing there are things you just do not talk about. HIV was one of them. But that silence is not protecting anyone. It is doing the opposite.

You can love your culture and still speak up. You can be rooted in your values and still say the things that need to be said. 🌏

The silence stops here. FOR THEM. ❤️

Young People Speak Up FOR THEM ✊

Joshua Bakirie, USP Student, proud Papua New Guinea National, and dad of two, showing us what it really means to do it FOR THEM. 🎙️

"As a father of two, it's important to be knowledgeable on HIV, so as my children grow, I have this information on hand, for their safety."

This one hits different. Because sometimes the reason to know, to test, and to protect yourself is not even about you. It is about the little ones watching you, learning from you, and depending on you.

Know the facts. Not just for yourself. For them. 🌏❤️
