Last Saturday, we had the honor to attend the Bougainville Voices panel discussion at UPNG!

Special thanks to Edwin and Deviyani, from United Nations Population Fund Papua New Guinea
This initiative is a powerful example of how grassroots data and participatory dialogue can drive real change. By collecting real-time insights from all 13 districts of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB), this project ensures that the voices of the community—especially our youth—are at the heart of sustainable peace and development.

The discussion was incredibly insightful, especially as it touched on the Constituency Independence Readiness Programme (CIRP) and how empowerment, gender equality, and human rights serve as the foundation for the road ahead.

A huge thank you to the distinguished panelists for sharing their expertise and vision:

*Stephanie Elijah – Secretary for the Department of Independence Mission Implementation (DIMI).

*Deviyani Dixit – Peacebuilding Manager at UNFPA.

*Rebecca Kossin – Advocacy Coordinator at the Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation.
Feeling inspired by the collective effort to identify challenges and create local solutions for a brighter future! ✨

The Bougainville Voices Open Panel Discussion was held yesterday at UPNG, providing students with an informative discussion on key issues affecting Bougainville.

The initiative builds on a 2025 project facilitated by the Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation in Bougainville, with support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and in coordination with the Autonomous Region of Bougainville Government (ABG).

The session featured panelists Ms. Stephanie Elijah (DIMI), Ms. Deviyani Laxmi Dixit (UNFPA) and Ms. Rebecca Kessin (Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation), with UNFPA Representative Ms. Saira Shameem also in attendance.

The discussion highlighted findings from 26 participatory community dialogues conducted across the 13 districts in AROB.

This focused on key development areas on the ABG six benchmarks under the Bougainville Peace Agreement (BPA):
• Law and order
• Governance
• Social Services
• Human Development
• Economy Development
• Health and Standards of Living

A meaningful step in bringing Bougainville conversations to students.

NiuVision PNG was truly honoured to have had our co-founder Mr.Michael Sarevellahr attend the PNG Young Professional Women Network ( YPWN) Annual Orientation Program 2026 at UPNG’s New Lecture Theatre under the powerful theme “Wear Your Crown 👑.”

Special acknowledgements to PNG YPWN Team and Founder, Miss. Shivonnie Sakme (Miss Angoram), your speech was splendid and very declarative and exemplary of your heart through the vision of PNG YPWN, so more Women.

Our Founder, Michael Sarevellahr was one of only 6 Kings present, it was a privilege to witness firsthand the strength, clarity, and purpose of young Papua New Guinean women rising into leadership spaces with confidence and vision. The message throughout the night was clear and timely: before you empower others, you must empower yourself—and real change begins when individuals recognize their collective strength.

Special appreciation to the inspiring speakers including Sophia MD Warep, Vilousa HahembeMiss Manui - East Sepik Pageanttt), Ruth ElijahMiss Bird of Paradise Central Province Pageant ), Anne-Marie KulinahMiss Ambunti Drekikir - Miss East Sepik Beauty in Leadership Pageanttt), Sharisse IlaMiss Goilala - Miss Bird of Paradise Central Province Pageant 202555), anMiss Ihu special Economic Zone- Miss Bird of Paradise Gulf Pageant 2025 for sharing powerful insights on what wearing Your Crowns mean to you, and how you each showcased in answering what you aim to achieve and do as a Queen.

The evening was also a strong reminder that to secure the future is to intentionally instruct and invest in the young. A generation is clearly rising—ready to speak, lead, serve, and shape Papua New Guinea.

And it was an honor and special blessing to have the Madam Governor for the Central Province Hon.Rufina Peter, to also attend and speak to the young women and other guests, she uttered wisdom and also stood to bridge that very evident generational gap in our present Society. We thank God for her life and her leadership

We deeply appreciate the leadership and vision of the PNG Young Professional Women Network and look forward to strengthening collaboration pathways that continue empowering young women across our nation. When young women rise, communities rise with them. 🇵🇬

Special shoutout to MisHiri Hanenamo 20250255, it was equally honorable to see you at the event, and this goes to say that collaboration and showing matters more than anything, Keep being great role models and inspiration to all other young girls out there.
