Appendix Cancer is a rare and often misunderstood disease.
Most people donβt even know it exists β and by the time symptoms show, the cancer is already in an advanced stage.
Itβs important to talk about it so more people can understand the signs and act early. π£οΈ
Common signs to look out for:
- A constant bloated or full feeling π
- Stomach pain or discomfort π€
- Changes in how often you go to the toilet π½
- Fluid in your belly (called ascites) π
- Hernias πͺ
- Symptoms like appendicitis (sharp pain on the right side of your belly) β‘οΈ
These signs are often mistaken for something else. But if they keep coming back or get worse β see a doctor. π©Ί
Who is more at risk? π§
We donβt know exactly what causes appendix cancer, but these things may increase your risk:
- People over the age of 50 π΅π΄
- Women (some studies show itβs slightly more common in females) π©
- Family history of cancer (especially colon cancer) π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
- Smoking π¬
How to take care of yourself:
Thereβs no specific test to find appendix cancer early. But these general healthy habits can help lower your overall risk:
- Eat well β more fruits and vegetables ππ₯¦
- Keep a healthy weight βοΈ
- Be active πββοΈ
- Donβt smoke π«
- Keep up with your regular health checkups β
