🌱 THANK YOU TO ALL OUR FARMERS 🌱

The Papua New Guinea Climate Change & Farmers Institute (PNG CCFI) sincerely thanks every farmer who has expressed interest in participating in the Central Province Pig Breeding Stock Distribution Pilot Project 2026.

The response from farming communities across Central Province has been encouraging and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening food security, creating sustainable livelihoods, and building resilient farming communities.

Please be advised that today, Friday, 31 July 2026, is the official closing date for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for this pilot project. Applications will close at 4:06 PM today. We kindly ask all applicants who have not yet completed their submissions to do so before the closing time.

Following the close of applications, PNG CCFI will commence the farm site assessment phase, where our assessment team will visit eligible applicants to verify farm information and assess readiness for participation in the pilot project.

We thank every farmer, community leader, supporter, and partner who has contributed to making this initiative possible. Your participation is helping lay the foundation for a stronger and more sustainable livestock sector in Central Province.

Together, we are investing in our farmers, our communities, and the future of Papua New Guinea.

🌱 Farmers Helping Farmers 🌱

Every successful farming community begins with people who are willing to share, learn, and support one another.

These photos showcase our dedicated farmers who have stepped forward to become part of the PNG Climate Change & Farmers Institute (PNG CCFI) Central Province Pig Breeding Stock Distribution Pilot Project 2026.

At PNG CCFI, we believe that farmers helping farmers is the foundation of stronger communities, improved livelihoods, and lasting food security. By sharing knowledge, encouraging one another, and building local capacity, we can create opportunities that benefit families for generations.

As our field assessments begin, we thank every farmer who has registered, completed the application process, and opened their farms to our assessment team. Your commitment is helping build a stronger agricultural future for Central Province.

Together, we are not just raising pigs—we are raising hope, strengthening communities, and improving food security for Papua New Guinea.

MEDIA RELEASE

PNG CCFI Thanks Traveller's Option PNG for Supporting Central Province Farmers

The Papua New Guinea Climate Change & Farmers Institute (PNG CCFI) is pleased to acknowledge and sincerely thank Traveller's Option PNG for its generous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution of K1,000.00 towards the Central Province Pig Breeding Stock Distribution Pilot Project 2026.

This contribution will directly assist participating farmers by providing essential materials required to establish their piggery projects. Items such as cement, timber, nails, water storage materials and other basic infrastructure will help farmers prepare suitable facilities for breeding stock and improve farm readiness.

Traveller's Option PNG has demonstrated that corporate social responsibility is not measured by the size of a business, but by its willingness to invest in people and communities. As a proudly Papua New Guinean travel agency, the company continues to support initiatives that promote sustainable livelihoods, food security and rural economic development.

The PNG CCFI Pilot Project is currently progressing across the five districts of Central Province, with the objective of selecting and supporting 50 committed farmers through training, farm assessments and breeding stock distribution. Every contribution received strengthens the project's capacity to empower rural families, increase local pork production and create sustainable income opportunities.

PNG CCFI welcomes Traveller's Option PNG as the second corporate sponsor of this important initiative and encourages other businesses, organisations and development partners to join this growing movement. Together, through partnership and shared responsibility, we can strengthen agriculture, reduce food imports and build resilient farming communities across Papua New Guinea.

On behalf of all participating farmers, PNG CCFI extends its heartfelt appreciation to the management and team at Traveller's Option PNG for believing in this vision and investing in the future of our rural communities.

Together, we are empowering farmers, restoring nature and securing the future of Papua New Guinea.

Optimum Holdings Limited Supports Central Province Pig Breeding Pilot

PNG Climate Change & Farmers Institute (PNG CCFI) is pleased to acknowledge a K500.00 donation from Optimum Holdings Limited in support of the Central Province Pig Breeding Stock Distribution Pilot Project 2026.

Optimum Holdings Limited is a Papua New Guinean small and medium enterprise specialising in building fumigation services for industrial buildings and offices. The company’s support demonstrates how local SMEs can directly contribute to rural livelihoods, food security and practical agricultural development.

The K500.00 donation will support basic farm-start-up needs for participating Central Province farmers, including cement bags, nails, timber, water tanks and other essential piggery housing, water and biosecurity materials.

Through this pilot, PNG CCFI is working toward supporting 50 assessed farmers across Abau, Goilala, Hiri-Koiari, Kairuku and Rigo Districts. Each contribution helps farmers establish safer pig housing, improve water access and build productive piggery enterprises.

PNG CCFI sincerely thanks Optimum Holdings Limited for investing in Central Province farmers and helping build a stronger, more self-reliant local food-production system.
