On the eve of September 6, the UPNG MMSA hosted an ELITE MENTORSHIP NIGHT to foster networking and motivation. This significant event, aimed at bringing elites closer to students, where students can forge networking with potential employers and build lasting connections with highly esteemed individuals and with themselves, turned out well, seeing the appearance of some distinguished individuals.
The students were graced with the presence of notable figures like: Mr. Damien Manget Tegi (MMSA Patron 2025), Mr. Enoch Kengerroh, Mr. Benjamin Akivi, Mr. Willie Dus, Mr. Justin Osil, Hon. Raphael Tonpi's Rep, Dr. Frank Benso, and Dr. Newton Albert.
The event was centered around the theme, "Building and Equipping Future Leaders to Persevere Through Challenges." This theme was acknowledged by all the speakers as fitting and timely, looking back 50 years from now as people of this sovereign state, Papua New Guinea. They reflected on their lives, motivating the young prospects of this nation going forward β the struggles, the commitment, sacrifices, and teaching some of the skills on how they use to personally deal with challenges as they persevered relentlessly. It was a night of valuable insights, motivation, thought practical knowledge, and important information that goes beyond the walls of lecture rooms. The UPNG MMSA was so thrilled with the vibrant and powerful speakers β and so fortunate, it was a night that had the potential to change lives and change the course of one's aimless life.
UPNG MMSA concluded the event with a hearty exchange of conversations and close contact dialogue with their invited guest speakers. The esteemed guests were refreshed with engagement between young individuals so as the students, and looked forward to more of such student-initiated events.
