The UPNG Mendi Munihu Students Association successfully hosted its 2026 First Years Orientation and Graduands Night at APEC Haus on Friday night.

The event brought together graduating students, first years, the general student body, families, and invited guests, adding significance to the special occasion.

The UPNG MMSA hosted a Successful Ball Night & Orientation program.

The UPNG Mendi Munihu Students Association hosted first year's orientation and graduands Ball Night program at the APEC Haus, Port Moresby, bringing together the first year students, the graduands, and their families.

The event was graced by few prominent leaders of Mendi Munihu and Southern Highlands, including the Vice Minister for State Enterprises and Member for Mendi Munihu, Hon. Raphael Tonpi, Managing Director for BK Construction, Mr. Peter Nupiri, Executive Officer of NCD, Dr. Newton Albert, Founder for Yer Foundation, Mr. Jackson Yer, and Entrepreneur and Freelance Consultant, Mr. Joseph Cajetan.

These leaders delivered powerful speeches centered on the necessity of hard work, reminding the students that success is earned and laziness leaves no food on the table.

However, during the ceremony, under the leadership of the association's President, Mr Frank Hundir and his executives presented certificates of appreciation to the graduands and dedicated students who helped push the association forward.

It was and inspiring event while celebrating academic milestone for the graduands and preparing the first year students on their journey ahead.

The event ended with excitement as food and drinks were served and was surplus and every attendees who attended the event really enjoyed it.

The Mendi Munihu Students Association Executives (MMSAE) of the university of Papua New Guinea is pleased to officially inform all members that Mr. Damien Manget Tegi, our esteemed patron for the year 2025, has graciously accepted to continue his patronage for the 2026 academic year.

His continued support, guidance, and commitment to the association are highly valued, and we are confident that his leadership will further strengthen the unity, growth and vision of our association.
