Noel Tarp is an emerging leader and entrepreneur from Tsingoropa Village, Jiwaka Province, Papua New Guinea. Driven by a strong belief in self-reliance and community development, Noel's journey is a testament to perseverance.
After facing initial academic challenges, he pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Planning and Development Studies from the University of Goroka.
Recognizing the difficulties in securing traditional employment, Noel took a proactive approach, founding his own organization and business. Today, he employs over 10 individuals and is spearheading the 'JIMI REFORESTATION INITIATIVE: FROM DEGRADATION TO CARBON SEQUESTRATION,' a project supported by the UNDP under the PNG Biodiversity and Climate Fund.
Noel is passionate about sharing his experiences to inspire young Papua New Guineans, urging them to create their own opportunities rather than awaiting external aid."
