Our theme, “Our People, Our Stories, A Brighter Tomorrow,” feels especially meaningful as we celebrate PNG’s 51st Independence Day tomorrow, 16 September. 🇵🇬

As we celebrate our nation’s journey, we also celebrate the courage of our members to use their voices, share their stories, embrace challenges and grow as leaders.

🇵🇬✨ THE PNG WE DREAM, THE FUTURE WE BUILD✨🇵🇬

What would Papua New Guinea look like in 2040 if we built the country we truly dream of?

That was the big question behind Success Synergy Toastmasters Meeting #48 held yesterday evening! 🌏

Even with a smaller group and some network challenges, our members showed up, stepped up and made it another meaningful evening of
speaking, learning and leadership development. 💪🏽🎤

🌟 TABLE TOPICS – PNG IN 2040

Our Table Topics session took us into the future and challenged us to think about what needs to change today.

🗣️ Naomi Stanley Naomi Nasha spoke about the need for a mindset shift among citizens and the importance of good leaders modelling the change.

🗣️ Rosilah Kiliu challenged us to look at the attitudes of both youth and adults, reminding us that building a better PNG requires us to make uncomfortable changes today.

🗣️ Linda Kapani spoke about persistence, vision and pride in being Papua New Guinea, reflecting on what we should be able to tell the next generation about the opportunities we have today.

🎤 DEVELOP YOUR VISION

Toastmaster Linda Kapani, Immediate Past President, also delivered her Level 5 speech "Develop Your Vision”, sharing her vision for the WingMia Mentorship and Empowerment Agency and its goal of developing 10,000 leaders by 2036.

📚 GIVING EFFECTIVE FEEDBACK

Our Leadership Excellence Series continued with an excellent training session led by Toastmaster Linda on Giving Effective Feedback — reminding us that good feedback can build confidence, encourage improvement and help others grow.

✨ Linda Kapani — “Moments of Truth”

Linda reminded us that every interaction with our club shapes people’s impression of Toastmasters. She challenged us to consider how we can continue making Success Synergy better through strong first impressions, mentoring, education, recognition and member involvement.

🌋 Rosilah Kiliu — “Who Told Us to Climb a Volcano?”

Rosila took us on an entertaining adventure of family, friendship and volcano climbing. Her story showed how experiences we question can become lasting memories that continue to “reverberate.”

💜 Violet Wangi — “The Echoes That Shaped Me”

A very special congratulations to Toastmaster Violet Wangi, who delivered her first Ice Breaker speech!🎉👏

Violet shared her journey, nursing experiences, interests and reasons for joining Toastmasters. She spoke about becoming a more confident communicator and stepping outside her comfort zone.

Today, she created her first echo in her Toastmasters journey! 🌟

Our Table Topics session was anything but ordinary!

Violet created an Echo Game where each speaker responded to a question, ended with two special words, and challenged the next speaker to begin with them.

Stephanie, June and Wilma rose to the challenge! 🎤👏

The session was creative, fun and perfectly aligned with "Echoes We Leave.”

📅 Sunday, 9 August 2026 | 🎯 Theme: “Unlock Your Potential”

We wrapped up another inspiring evening at Success Synergy Toastmasters PNG, and what a meeting it was! 🌟

We were honoured to welcome Area Director Frank Manue Jr. as our distinguished guest, alongside up to nine guests who joined us online.

Area Director Frank commended our club for its innovative use of breakout rooms, the effective use of the sandwich feedback method by our evaluators, and the strong leadership demonstrated throughout the meeting.

Five members progressed through their Toastmasters Pathways projects and delivered prepared speeches. It was also fantastic to see our members step confidently into their meeting roles as we divided into two breakout rooms, giving speakers more opportunities to present, receive evaluations, and develop their skills.

📚 Better Speaker Series Training

Our Club Secretary, Toastmaster June Dibela, delivered an outstanding training session on Impromptu Speaking as part of the Better Speaker Series, while also completing her Level 4 project.

June shared a practical five-step formula to help us respond with confidence when put on the spot:

Listen → Pause → Confirm → Tell → End

She also introduced four useful response strategies and wrapped up with three powerful reminders:

💪 Be Confident.
🎯 Be Brief.
💬 Be Sincere.

🎤 Table Topics

Our Table Topics session was expertly facilitated by VPE Norah Christine Aura, with Area Director Frank leading the way as our first speaker and setting an inspiring tone for the session.

Toastmaster Naomi Stanley courageously volunteered to take on a Table Topic, followed by our Immediate Past President, Linda Kapani, who brought the session to a strong close.

The questions challenged us to reflect on fear, hidden struggles, failure, courage and how we can unlock our potential.

🌱 Growth Happens When We Step Forward

And yes — like any live meeting, it wasn't perfect. We experienced network challenges, a few mistakes, and moments when nerves got the better of us in the spotlight.

But that's exactly what makes Toastmasters so valuable.

It is a safe and supportive space where we can try, stumble, learn, receive feedback, and grow without judgment. Every mistake is an opportunity to improve, and every meeting is another chance to build the confidence and skills we can carry into the real world.

A huge thank you to all our members who took on roles, delivered speeches, evaluated, participated in Table Topics, and supported one another throughout the evening. 👏

And to all our guests who joined us online — we hope you gained something valuable from the experience and that we'll see you again at our next meeting on Sunday, 23 August 2026! 🎉

Success Synergy Toastmasters Club closed an inspiring Sunday evening with Club Meeting No. 38 🌟

Guided by our Toastmaster of the Evening, Rose Kungumori , and led by President Linda Kapani , tonight’s theme “Be You” truly came alive through every role and speaker.

👏 Prepared Speakers:

Naomi Nasha delivered a powerful speech on “Luminescence,” reminding us to let our inner light shine, while Judith Migile inspired us with “The Magic in Vision Boards,” encouraging us to dream boldly and take action.
