The Urban Youth Employment Project is a joint project by the Government of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG), National Capital District Commission (NCDC) and the World Bank. This is a development initiative for the youth in NCD, aiming to make a difference in the lives of young people in Port Moresby by giving them a chance to gain work experience and acquire skills that will help them realize their potent

ial and help improve their employability and lives in general. The project is mainly targeted at the unemployed youth, age ranging from 16 to 35 years. Youths who not in a paid job, and who are not currently enrolled in any school participate in this project. The project has started in Port Moresby and has the potential to be replicated to other urban centres in the country, to provide a second chance for youths to address the growing employment demands.
