“Strengthening Faith and Community: SUDA Releases Christmas Message & 2025 Crusade Update”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sambe Unity Development Association (SUDA) remains committed to unity, peace, and creating a better future for the Sambe community of Pilikambi LLG. Christmas Eve is a time for forgiveness, reconciliation, and celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As part of our ongoing initiatives, SUDA continues to partner with all churches within Pilikambi LLG, especially across the Sambe area to host an annual interdenominational crusade. This important spiritual gathering strengthens our unity and promotes positive transformation within our communities.
For the 2025 program, SUDA executives have resolved to host the crusade at Mapumanda Primary School in early January , as the planned venue at Papayuk is not yet ready. SUDA has pledged K2,000 as sponsorship for this year's event. We believe true development begins with a change of attitude, and the power of the Gospel can transform lives, restore families, and protect the community projects we invest in.
Looking ahead, the 2026 interdenominational crusade will be hosted at Lifian community.
On behalf of SUDA, I extend warm Christmas greetings to all.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2026.
Mr. George Iki
President –SUDA
Mapumanda Primary School Rebuilt Through Community Effort and SUDA Support.
Lagaip District - Pilikambi LLG , Enga Province – May 2025
Mapumanda Primary School in PiliKambi LLG in Lagaip District has risen from the ashes, thanks to the dedication of the local community and timely intervention by the Service Delivery and Utilization of Assistance from Sabe Unity Development Association (SUDA).
The school was completely destroyed during the 2022 national elections, leaving students without proper learning facilities. Despite the devastation, Head Teacher Mr. Kandeo Aperao, the Board of Management (BOM), and the surrounding community took immediate action. Within a year, they managed to construct a 2-in-1 semi-permanent classroom using available resources and materials salvaged from the burned-down infrastructure.
This year, SUDA stepped in to further support the school's recovery by funding the construction of a modern 4-in-1 classroom building. With the help of SUDA and the resilient spirit of the community, the new facility was completed recently and is now being used by students.
According to Mr. Aperao, the initiative not only restored educational infrastructure but also symbolized the strength and unity of the Mapumanda community. He acknowledged that the reuse of burned roofing irons and timber posts played a significant role in the early stages of rebuilding, showing the community's commitment to ensuring students could continue learning despite setbacks.
“The intervention by SUDA was timely and life-changing for our students,” Mr. Aperao said. “Our children are now learning in proper classrooms, and we are deeply grateful.”
Mapumanda Primary School now stands as a shining example of how collaboration between local communities and development partners can restore hope and opportunity in the face of adversity.
Progress Report: Papayuku Primary School Staff Room Project – Pilikambi LLG, Lagaip District, Enga Province.
The Papayuku Primary School staff room construction project, supported by the Sambe Unity and Development Association (SUDA), is progressing steadily. In line with SUDA's project funding policy, an initial 40% of the total project funds was released to commence construction.
This first installment has been utilized effectively, with the roofing iron now fully installed on the staff room. This significant progress demonstrates the active implementation of the project and reflects positively on the local coordination and commitment to the initiative.
As per SUDA’s policy, the remaining 60% of funding will be disbursed to complete the project.
The policy ensures accountability and encourages continuous work by releasing the second portion only after satisfactory use of the initial funds is demonstrated.
The successful completion of the roofing marks a major milestone, and with the next phase of funding, the project is expected to be completed in a timely manner, providing improved facilities for the teaching staff of Papayuku Primary School.
