For us at the Rotary Club of Boroko, this is more than a motivational thought. It is about looking beyond a problem and asking: What can we do about it?

Whether it is helping provide desks for students, supporting the movement of humanitarian supplies, or working with local businesses and organisations to respond to community needs, service often begins with seeing an opportunity where others may only see a challenge.

We believe meaningful change happens when people are willing to look at a need differently, come together, and take action.

As part of the Rotary Club of Boroko’s Desk Donation Project, 20 desks are being provided to support students at Popo Primary School and contribute to a better learning environment.

A big thank you to our Partners at: Swire Shipping, PNG Forest Products, Badili Hardware Ltd., Coral Sea Hotels, BSP Papua New Guinea, Nambawan Trophy Limited, Patrick’s Transport and Moni Plus for supporting schools and students across PNG and helping turn a community need into practical action.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF:

Each year, Rotary Club of Boroko (RCB), through the kindness of its sponsors and philanthropic donors, procures and distributes wheelchairs to those in need across Papua New Guinea. We recognize that not everyone living with a disability has the means to own a wheelchair, with costs often exceeding K2,000. For many families, this essential mobility aid remains out of reach.

At Rotary Club of Boroko, our small contribution to the community is guided by our motto, “Service Above Self.” It is the support we receive from our partners and donors that enables us to focus on areas of greatest need—assisting the disabled and those who are unable to move freely due to illness or other ailments.

We are proud to play our part in creating lasting value for the citizens of this country whenever and wherever we can.

Today, this wheelchair represents more than mobility—it represents dignity, independence, and hope. Together, we continue to make a difference, one life at a time.
