Taste the Sweetness
Judges 14:8–9 the bible reads; “After some time, he returned to marry her. He turned aside to look at the carcass of the lion, and behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the carcass of the lion. He took some in his hands and went along, eating…”
We live in a fast-moving digital world (messages flashing, timelines scrolling, attention constantly divided) yet in the middle of all that noise, God still speaks.
In an unexpected moment in Judges chapter 14, something strange happens: honey is found inside the carcass of a lion. Sweetness in a place of death. Life where there should be decay. It’s unusual, even unsettling, but deeply symbolic.
This is how God often works.
And today, wherever you are reading this (from your phone, your room, your office, or in a quiet moment alone) this same God is reaching out to you. The question is not whether He is present. The question is: are you willing to taste what He is offering?
No one expects honey in a dead lion. Yet that’s exactly where Samson found it. God has a way of bringing sweetness out of bitter places. What looks like failure, pain, confusion, or even spiritual emptiness can become the very place where His grace appears.
You may feel far from God. Distracted. Numb. Maybe even spiritually dry. But don’t miss this: God can meet you right there.
Through a message like this.
Through a quiet conviction.
Through a sudden awareness that you need something more.
That is His kindness reaching for you.
Samson didn’t just observe the honey but he took it and ate. That moment required a response. And so does this one. God is not forcing Himself on you. He is inviting you. You can scroll past. You can ignore the stirring in your heart. Or you can respond.
Jesus said, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” You don’t have to understand everything first. You just need to be willing. That honey in Book of Judges is more than a strange event, it points forward. It points to Jesus Christ.
Because what Samson experienced physically, Jesus offers spiritually. Where there is emptiness, He brings fullness.
Where there is guilt, He brings forgiveness. Where there is restlessness, He brings peace. This is not about religion. It’s about relationship. Accepting Jesus is not just agreeing with a belief but it is opening your life to a Person who fills what nothing else can.
Come as you are. Messed up, not cleaned up, not perfect. Just honest. Receive His forgiveness because your past does not disqualify you. Surrender your direction and let Him lead your life, not just visit it. Live by His Spirit, not by your strength, but by His power in you.
This is where life begins to change from the inside out. Speak honestly: “Jesus, I need You.” Turn away from what you know is wrong. Invite Him into your whole life not just your problems. Begin small daily habits; Scripture reading, prayer, quiet reflection. Let your faith show in how you live, speak, and even post.
There is a moment when everything shifts. Not because your circumstances suddenly change but because you do. When Jesus becomes real to you (not distant, not theoretical, but present) you begin a journey that reshapes your life completely.
The sweetness you taste today becomes the foundation of your tomorrow. In your personal life: invite Jesus into your routines, not just your emergencies. In your online presence: be a source of light, not noise. Truth, not confusion. In your growth: keep it simple. Read, pray, reflect daily. Consistency beats intensity.
If something is stirring in you right now, don’t ignore it. That is not random. That is God calling you. You don’t need a perfect moment. You don’t need perfect words. You just need a willing heart. Come to Jesus.
