Taste the Sweetness

Judges 14:8–9 the bible reads; “After some time, he returned to marry her. He turned aside to look at the carcass of the lion, and behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the carcass of the lion. He took some in his hands and went along, eating…”

We live in a fast-moving digital world (messages flashing, timelines scrolling, attention constantly divided) yet in the middle of all that noise, God still speaks.

In an unexpected moment in Judges chapter 14, something strange happens: honey is found inside the carcass of a lion. Sweetness in a place of death. Life where there should be decay. It’s unusual, even unsettling, but deeply symbolic.

This is how God often works.

And today, wherever you are reading this (from your phone, your room, your office, or in a quiet moment alone) this same God is reaching out to you. The question is not whether He is present. The question is: are you willing to taste what He is offering?

No one expects honey in a dead lion. Yet that’s exactly where Samson found it. God has a way of bringing sweetness out of bitter places. What looks like failure, pain, confusion, or even spiritual emptiness can become the very place where His grace appears.

You may feel far from God. Distracted. Numb. Maybe even spiritually dry. But don’t miss this: God can meet you right there.

Through a message like this.
Through a quiet conviction.
Through a sudden awareness that you need something more.

That is His kindness reaching for you.

Samson didn’t just observe the honey but he took it and ate. That moment required a response. And so does this one. God is not forcing Himself on you. He is inviting you. You can scroll past. You can ignore the stirring in your heart. Or you can respond.

Jesus said, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” You don’t have to understand everything first. You just need to be willing. That honey in Book of Judges is more than a strange event, it points forward. It points to Jesus Christ.

Because what Samson experienced physically, Jesus offers spiritually. Where there is emptiness, He brings fullness.
Where there is guilt, He brings forgiveness. Where there is restlessness, He brings peace. This is not about religion. It’s about relationship. Accepting Jesus is not just agreeing with a belief but it is opening your life to a Person who fills what nothing else can.

Come as you are. Messed up, not cleaned up, not perfect. Just honest. Receive His forgiveness because your past does not disqualify you. Surrender your direction and let Him lead your life, not just visit it. Live by His Spirit, not by your strength, but by His power in you.

This is where life begins to change from the inside out. Speak honestly: “Jesus, I need You.” Turn away from what you know is wrong. Invite Him into your whole life not just your problems. Begin small daily habits; Scripture reading, prayer, quiet reflection. Let your faith show in how you live, speak, and even post.

There is a moment when everything shifts. Not because your circumstances suddenly change but because you do. When Jesus becomes real to you (not distant, not theoretical, but present) you begin a journey that reshapes your life completely.

The sweetness you taste today becomes the foundation of your tomorrow. In your personal life: invite Jesus into your routines, not just your emergencies. In your online presence: be a source of light, not noise. Truth, not confusion. In your growth: keep it simple. Read, pray, reflect daily. Consistency beats intensity.

If something is stirring in you right now, don’t ignore it. That is not random. That is God calling you. You don’t need a perfect moment. You don’t need perfect words. You just need a willing heart. Come to Jesus.

🔥⚖️ HELL vs. LAKE OF FIRE

(Temporary Holding Place vs. Final Eternal
Judgment)
📖 Key Text: Revelation 20:14 (KJV)
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

🔰 INTRODUCTION

Many people use HELL and the LAKE OF FIRE interchangeably, but rightly divided Scripture makes a clear distinction.
Failure to distinguish these leads to:
Confusion about judgment
Error about resurrection
False teaching about eternity

👉 Today we will clearly divide HELL vs. LAKE OF FIRE using Pauline doctrine and the whole counsel of God.

🟡 1️⃣ DISTINCT DESIGNATIONS 📖
📖 Luke 16:23; Revelation 20:14

A. Hell (Sheol/Hades) – Temporary place of the dead
B. Lake of Fire – Eternal place of punishment
C. Different Purposes – Holding vs. final judgment
➡️ Dispensational Insight:
Hell is not the final destination.

🟡 2️⃣ DIFFERENT DURATIONS ⏳
📖 Revelation 20:11–15

A. Hell Is Temporary – Exists until final judgment
B. Lake of Fire Is Eternal – “Forever and ever” (Rev 20:10)
C. Time vs. Timelessness – Waiting vs. finality
➡️ Hell will be emptied, the Lake of Fire never will.

🟡 3️⃣ DIFFERENT RESIDENTS 👥
📖 Luke 16:22–23; Revelation 20:13

A. Hell Holds the Unsaved Dead – Conscious torment
B. Lake of Fire Receives the Resurrected Lost – Body + soul
C. Satan Ends in the Lake – Never in Hell (Rev 20:10)
➡️ Hell holds souls; the Lake of Fire holds persons.

🟡 4️⃣ DIFFERENT RESURRECTIONS ⚰️➡️🔥
📖 John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:12

A. Hell Gives Up the Dead – Temporary release
B. Lost Are Resurrected Physically – To judgment
C. Second Death Follows – Eternal separation
➡️ No one is cast into the Lake of Fire without resurrection.

🟡 5️⃣ DIFFERENT DEATHS ☠️☠️
📖 Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:14

A. First Death – Physical death
B. Hell Holds After First Death
C. Lake of Fire Is the Second Death – Eternal
➡️ The second death is worse than the first.

🟡 6️⃣ DIFFERENT DEGREES OF JUDGMENT ⚖️
📖 Romans 2:5–6; Luke 12:47–48

A. Hell Has Conscious Torment – Awareness & regret
B. Lake of Fire Has Final Justice – No appeal
C. Works Are Judged – Degrees of punishment
➡️ God’s judgment is righteous and measured.

🟡 7️⃣ DIFFERENT DISPENSATIONAL CONTEXTS 🕰️
📖 Acts 17:30–31; Romans 11:32

A. Hell Operates Now – Present age
B. Lake of Fire Operates After Kingdom & Judgment
C. Grace Offered Before Judgment – Today is salvation day
➡️ We live before the Great White Throne.

🟡 8️⃣ DIVINE WARNING 🚨
📖 2 Thessalonians 1:8–9

A. Eternal Separation from God
B. No Escape After Judgment
C. Grace Ends Where Judgment Begins
➡️ Ignoring this truth is eternal folly.

🟡 9️⃣ DELIVERANCE THROUGH THE GOSPEL ✝️
📖 1 Corinthians 15:1–4; Romans 5:9

A. Christ Bore Judgment – In our place
B. Blood Delivers from Wrath – Justification
C. Believers Are Never Appointed to Wrath – 1 Thess 5:9
➡️ Salvation removes both HELL and the LAKE OF FIRE.

🔚 CONCLUSION

📌 Hell is real — but temporary
📌 The Lake of Fire is real — and eternal
The most terrifying truth is not fire…
but forever.

📣 CALL TO ACTION

👉 Flee from the wrath to come
👉 Believe the Gospel NOW
📖 “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
➡️ Trust Christ. Receive Grace. Escape Judgment.

✨ FINAL THOUGHTS

🔥 Hell is a warning
🔥 The Lake of Fire is a verdict
✝️ Christ stood between you and judgment.
🔑 The greatest difference is not Hell vs. Lake of Fire…
but LOST vs. SAVED.
🙏 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ—while mercy is still offered.

Knowing Who You Are Changes the Battle

David did not win against Goliath because he looked strong or sounded brave. He won because he knew where he stood with God. The valley in 1 Samuel 17 was not only about stones and swords. It was about identity.

When Goliath shouted, Israel listened through fear. The Bible says the soldiers ran and were afraid when they saw him (1 Samuel 17:24). Fear made them forget who they were. They were God’s people, but fear convinced them they were helpless.

David heard the same words and saw the same giant, but his heart read the moment differently. He asked why this Philistine was allowed to mock the armies of the living God (1 Samuel 17:26). David was not focused on size or skill. He was focused on covenant. He knew that Goliath did not belong to God, but Israel did.

David did not trust his own strength. When Saul doubted him, David remembered how God had already rescued him from the lion and the bear. He said the same Lord would rescue him again (1 Samuel 17:37). His confidence came from God’s faithfulness, not his own ability.

He also refused Saul’s armor. It looked right, but it did not fit. David chose what God had already trained him to use (1 Samuel 17:39). This shows us that faith does not need to copy others. It works best when it stays true to God’s calling.

When David faced Goliath, he made his position clear. He said the giant came with weapons, but he came in the name of the Lord (1 Samuel 17:45). David understood authority. He knew the fight belonged to God. The goal was not fame for David, but glory for God, so the world would know who the true God is (1 Samuel 17:46).

David said it plainly. The battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47). He fought knowing God was already involved. That truth gave him courage to move forward.

David’s victory points us to something greater. Jesus did not face a giant with stones. He faced sin and death at the cross. The Bible says Jesus defeated the powers of darkness openly (Colossians 2:15). The enemy still tries to scare and accuse, but his power is broken. What he uses now are lies and fear.

That is why identity still matters today. Believers do not fight to earn God’s love. They stand in it. Scripture says we have peace with God through Jesus (Romans 5:1). Jesus also promised that no one can take His people out of His hand (John 10:28).

Resisting the enemy does not mean panic or noise. It means refusing to agree with lies. The Bible says to submit to God and resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7). When fear says you are alone, Scripture says there is no condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1). When shame speaks, God says you are made new in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

David ran toward the giant because he trusted God’s presence. Believers can stand firm because Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33). The most important battle has already been won.

This story is not asking you to be fearless. It is calling you to be grounded. When you know who you are and who holds you, fear loses its voice. In Christ, your identity is secure, your future is sealed, and the victory that matters most is already finished.
