After the 2 week module 1 training in NCD with 80 early childhood teachers, Mr Daniels and Mr Asoni visited 6 hubs before they closed for the end of the year. Here are some of the highlights from their visits to Tutu, Wisdom Learner's (Hohola), Ben's Peak Hohola (a new hub started by a retired primary school teacher since the training but within days had 20 children) Children of Light (Tuna Bay), Taurama Barracks and early Readers Christian School in MNW. these hubs are all from Blue class. More hub visits will be carried out next year once the 2026 school year commences.

Just finished 2 weeks module 1 training with the first 80 early childhood teachers from NCD. Thank you Mrs Theresita Lomoi for your faith in us to deliver the training and to the Governor Powes Parkop for investing in early childhood. It is much appreciated! Thank you to the hardworking training team and all the trainees who showed up every day.

Mr Daniels has recently returned from a month in the Okapa district where he ran a training for those who will be teaching in the school that 3 communities have built. Those who have been following our page will know that this is one of our follow-up visits and on this occasion, the school was officially launched. We wish the new school all the very best in their quest to raise smart young people who will be good citizens that contribute to the growth of PNG.

For those who weren't around at the time or were too young to know what was happening, here is a short video about that special day when the nation of PNG was given/achieved its independence in one of the best, most dignified and honouring transitions to independence the world had seen. PNG does celebrations well and milestones like this can be a good opportunities to reflect on the past and also to think deeply about what kind of country you want to become in the future. There was a lot of hope and optimism in 1975 about what lay ahead for PNG and it was in the hands of that generation to create the future. Now its your turn. What future are you going to dream and take the necessary steps towards achieving? ! !

I'm going to post 2 short videos in celebration of PNG's independence. There is so much more that can be said. I love history and don't want to lose what really happened at the time because not only is truth important, but what happened in the past helps us understand and therefore manage the present a lot better. HAPPY 50th PNG!!!!! May the next 50 years be even more blessed than the past 50!

In recent weeks Mr J Joe has gone to a village in Madang at the invitation of 2 young men to teach them how to start their own early literacy hub. This is the first time Skelim Save has served in Madang Province.

Mr J Joe recently led a module 2 training on his own in Jiwaka. We are very proud of this young man and his dedication to helping empower both the children and adults in his community. Here are some pictures from the training which show what was covered - and a little of the hard work he put in to make this happen! It's important to note the Mr J Joe did this as his own initiative, it was not a Skelim Save training. We like to see people empowered to take charge of their own destiny and that of their community. As we so often say, "We are not here to help you, we are here to help you help yourself."Mr J Joe is a great example of what happens when someone with drive catches the vision and makes things happen.

This morning, the closing ceremony of Mr. J. Joe's Hub in Jiwaka was successfully conducted. Students are currently participating in various activities to mark the beginning of the school holiday period.

Since it is World Environment Day, one of our trainers who help out from time to time Mr. Joshua Joe with his students from his own hub..
"I took all the students of my hub up to a hill for an adventure, showing them the Waghi valley, the mountains and explaining to them the importance of the Environment because June 05th is World Environment day". The students are very interested. "In the morning they brought seeds and some seedlings and we have planted them around our school".

Miss Kurari visited Trinity Early Learning Hub in Waigani today with a box of books from Books4PNGkids. The kids loved the books and the trainers were very excited by the maths books they found in the box!! Gifts like these can make a big difference in the hubs. We send a big thank you to books4PNGkids and Miss Kurari for visiting!
