Well Head Landowners Raise Concerns Over The Treatment During Papua LNG Development Forum.
Landowners from the Well Head area have raised serious concerns regarding the manner in which they were treated by the National Government and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) while residing in Port Moresby during the Papua LNG (PLNG) Development Forum.
The landowners expressed dissatisfaction with the support and arrangements provided to them during their participation in the Development Forum. They have therefore called on the Office of the Prime Minister to respond to their petition as soon as possible and to address the concerns they have formally raised.
The Well Head landowners have further stated that they will not sign any agreement relating to the Papua LNG Project until their outstanding concerns are properly addressed. They also made it clear that they do not want any consultants or other representatives to sign the agreement on their behalf.
The landowners have given the Office of the Prime Minister until Wednesday 14 of October, 2026, to respond to their petition. If they do not receive a satisfactory response by that time, they have indicated that they will return to their respective villages and will not proceed with signing the Papua LNG Project Agreement.
