Thank you to EMTV News and Malinta Yopolo for the coverage of the PCBL 2026 Conference.

Melanesian representation in Pacific storytelling matters deeply to me. For too long, our voices, our textures, and our truths have been underrepresented in the narratives that shape our region.

What I carry and share through The Wait is my offering, my contribution to amplifying Melanesian voices within Pacific storytelling. It is rooted in identity, healing, and the sacredness of our lived experiences as Melanesian women.

In due time, I will share moreโ€ฆ including a launch date. Stay tuned ๐Ÿ’•

For Papua New Guineans, the bilum is more than a bag.

It carries our food from the garden, our books to school, and sometimes even our babies. It travels with us through daily life, across markets, villages, towns, and generations.

In Tok Pisin, bilum translates to womb, the place that carries life. A quiet reminder of nurture, continuity, and legacy.

During the Young Pacific Leaders Navigators Conference in Auckland, I brought back the challenge with my amazing cohort from across the Pacific.

Just like the bilum carries what we need for the journey, our stories carry the hopes we hold for the future of the Pacific.

Now we pass the bilum to you, what do you hope for in our Blue Pacific Continent?

SmartyTip: Donโ€™t miss any of your deadlines! This is one of the busiest times of the year for applications that are due by June 30 (end of financial year for many funders). Plan ahead now to avoid any rush and submit your application well before its due date.

Who remembers when covid hit and we were on lockdown, practicing physical social distancing irl but hanging out on Tiktok?

Many trends emerged during this time and the was one of them. For me it was more than a trend it was a statement about unity, legacy and diversity.

This message is so relevant to my future work so I decided to bring this challenge back with my cohort, stay tuned for the next post โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•

Hi there!

Over the past six years, Iโ€™ve been exploring and researching Biblical themes of waiting, while learning what it truly means to wait in my own season of life.

Along the way, as a Melanesian woman, I discovered unexpected links between waiting in theology and an aspect of PNG culture, and how both shape who we are called to become.

In due time, I will share reflections, stories, and insights that have emerged from this journey.

Thank you for being here.

Love,
Antonnia๐Ÿ’›
