2027 Online Studies Application Now Open!

Applications for 2027 is now open for Non-School Leavers & Re-admit Students who wish to study in the 2027 Academic Year via Online Mode.

Applications close: 31 October 2026

Important: Applications are ONLINE ONLY. Manual, hardcopy, or emailed applications will not be accepted.

Who can apply?

✅ Students who have completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
✅ Students who have discontinued or withdrawn from studies in their semester 1 of their previous year of studies.

To the People of Jiwaka Province & Office of our Governor, Hon. Simon T. Kawi,

Good morning Jiwaka 🙏

On behalf of the Unitech Jiwaka Students Association, we sincerely thank you and the Jiwaka Provincial Government for your continued support of tertiary students. We are especially grateful for last year’s sponsorship and this year’s 50% increase in sponsorship per student. This shows real commitment to building the future human resources of our province.

It is with that same spirit that we respectfully raise a concern.
After carefully comparing the JPG paid list with the biodata we submitted, we found that 65 genuine Jiwaka students at Unitech have missed out on the 2026 JPG Sponsorship:

- 5 Post Graduates
- 15 1st Years
- 17 2nd Years
- 13 3rd Years
- 15 Final Years

Some of us have been blessed to receive support, while many of our fellow Jiwakans have been left out. This is not fair.

We understand there are data issues to be sorted, missing ID numbers , outdated information , and name discrepancies. We suggest a 1-month pause to fix this.
We humbly request the JPG team to review and approve the missing 65 names with an official stamped list from the Unitech Registrar, so that no Jiwaka student is left behind.

All Jiwaka students at Unitech deserve equal and fair benefits.
We believe in your leadership, Governor Kawi, and trust that you will address this so that every Jiwaka son and daughter gets the opportunity they deserve.

What Educational Awarenes carried out by UNITECH JIWAKA STUDENTS Really Means...💙🎓

It’s more than just talking.
Educational Awareness is carrying hope, information, and direction to School Leavers in Jiwaka Province who dream of studying at Papua New Guinea University of Technology( UNITECH).

We are UNITECH Jiwaka Students coming home to share what we know, so the next generation can walk the path with confidence.

What We Cover During Our 2026 School Visits:

1. Importance of Education in Today’s Society
We break down: _What is Education? Why do we need it now more than ever? How does it build our families, communities, and Jiwaka Province?

2. Study Smart Tips to Secure a Spot in UNITECH
This isn’t theory. One of our own shares their real journey — how they studied, struggled, and made it into UNITECH. If we did it, you can too.

3. Life at UNITECH
We give students a real picture:
- Departments & Faculties| National & Expatriate Lecturers | Overseas Students
- New Dining Hall | Boarding & Lodging | Learning Facilities
-Sports
: URL, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball |
Easter & Independence Games | Mini Culture Show
-Groups: Academic Dept. Associations, Provincial Social Groups, Spiritual & Religious Groups. We told them,
UNITECH is not just books. It’s growth, culture, and community.

4. The Accreditation Program
Why it matters. What it means for your Bachelor’s Degree to be accredited, and how it opens doors locally and internationally.

5. Time Management
The secret link between Topics 2 & 3. Learn how to manage this scarce resource to study smart, live well, and succeed at tertiary level.

6. NOAS Applications
Step-by-step guidance on applying correctly and on time.

7. UNITECH Entry Requirements Talk
Small group sessions. We go through GPA cut-offs for each department, courses offered, new programs, faculty breakdown, 1st Year Fee Structure, and student intake numbers.

This is our mission:
To make sure every student in North & South Waghi, Jimi, Anglimp, and across Jiwaka has the
right information, real stories, and belief that UNITECH is possible.

Because when one Jiwaka child gets in, a whole family rises.
When many get in, Jiwaka rises.

First Time in Jimi. A Memory for Life🌿✨

For some of our Jiwaka boys, this was their very first time stepping foot in Jimi District.
They called it "remote"... but we found beautiful people, powerful stories, and hearts bigger than the mountains.

This trip wasn’t just travel.
It was culture, it was family, it was a lesson we’ll carry forever.

Jimi gave us more than memories. It gave us home. 💙
