Young family pictured travelled in a tiny boat from their remote island to Levie Island to attend the ADI Integrated Health Outreach Clinic to have their baby immunised.

ADI and the Manus Provincial Health Authority (MPHA) team travelled to Levei island by boat from Lorengau, the capital of Manus Province. 1053 people attended the 2 day clinic, and 379 individual consultations or treatments were provided by the multi-disciplinary team in the areas of physiotherapy, dental care, blood pressure checks, STI/HIV checks, eye checks, routine immunisations, plus health education and awareness, and maternal and child health sessions were provided for these rural communities.

Amazing example of our ADI team and the MPHA team working together to bring healthcare and health education to the remote islands of PNG.

Its been a while we have not posted.

But we have been at work at our pace with whatever helping hands we could ling-on.

Through one such support, we are able to purchase few medical equipments and reselling to support our objectives.

As a token of appreciation, we will be supporting Tekin Health Centre with a medical compo.

As a carpenter without hammer and nails is no good and thus a health worker without this vital equipments they can't better assess and diagnose patients.

We therefore donating this items to our health centre.

If you would like to support a health worker in our community, you can purchase this items and we can deliver it to our health facility.

You can make a difference now and support our community.

Season greetings from the team. Slow but surely. Taking a step forward is a progress. We have not done as expected but did as planned. Surely looking forward to 2023 with clear target.

Thank you to the people who have support with resources and words of encouragement.

Health is indeed everyone's problem but one must step up to lead. And that has been one of our aim to step up to take on the challenge.

With leaving no one behind and health is everyone' problem in the NHP 2022-2030, we aim to Target KRA 1: Healthier Communities through health promotion.

We aim to deliver health promotion and awareness to every council wards of Telefomin District by 2027.

In our little input for 2022;
✓ Purchase hearing aid for 8 clients who now can hear well.
✓ Delivered 29kg birthing kit to Oksapmin Health Centre
✓ Advised medical referral for 4 clients
✓Assist with PMV fares for 5 members
✓Delivered few medicines at discount price to members.

We aim to be involved in:
°Health promotion
°Health awareness
°Water and sanitation projects
°Village Birth Attendance Training
°Village First Aid Training
°Nutrition Promotion
°Care of People living with Disabilities
°Care and training of elderly care
°Sourcing specialist medical personals in (ENT, Dentistry, Hearing) to attend to our people at home.
°Purchasing of medical kits and equipment for health facilities in Telefomin District.
°All in All is To Promote Healthy Island Concept.

Aikari Muri is a longtime volunteer with PNG Red Cross Society. He has undergone trainings with PNG Red Cross National Society under NCD/Central branch and other agencies such as PNG National Disaster Centre, Provincial Disaster Centre and partners on how to respond to disasters. When disasters strikes, Aikari is always ready to use his experience and knowledge to respond and help affected communities.
