MISS NEW IRELAND 2025 UPDATE

After careful consideration, the Miss New Ireland Committee has made the decision to step back from this year’s Miss Bird of Paradise Pageant. This was not an easy choice, however it is the right one to ensure that our province and our chosen ambassador receive the proper support, preparation and visibility they truly deserve.

With the late notice of national requirements and the limited timeframe given to prepare, we felt it would not be fair to push our representative forward without the full training, marketing and community backing that other provinces have had the opportunity to organise.

Rather than compromise the standard we want for New Ireland, we will now redirect our efforts into building a full Miss New Ireland Pageant for 2026, to be hosted in New Ireland Province. This will allow us to properly train, mentor and showcase our young women and give them the strongest possible lead up to the national stage.

To everyone who took part in this year’s selection process, and to our supporters and partners, thank you. Your time, talent and enthusiasm have laid the foundation for an even bigger and better programme next year.

We remain committed to uplifting the people of New Ireland, our culture and our tourism, and we look forward to delivering an event we can all be proud of in 2026.

Miss New Ireland 2025 Update

We’d like to thank all our incredible applicants and supporters for your patience as we work through the Miss New Ireland 2025 selection process.
This year’s response has been overwhelming; 19 beautiful, intelligent and confident women have stepped forward to represent our province with pride. From this 17 have progressed to the next interviews.
Our selection process has taken a little longer than planned but we are now in the final stages and aim to crown our Miss New Ireland very soon.
This year marks the first time our provincial program has been run, we have opted for a selection process rather than a full pageant to meet the national and regional timelines for Miss Bird of Paradise PNG and Miss South Pacific 2026.
We’re so proud of every young woman who has taken part and we can’t wait to introduce New Ireland’s representative to the nation very soon.

First day of vetting of applications. 19 applications, 17 met the criteria of Miss BoP on paper. Will be contacting for the next steps before a final shortlist determined.

Regardless of meeting criteria specifically or not, to say we are proud of all applicants is an understatement. Very well presenting women, go getters, confidence, beauty and brains! The achievements and social impact each has is commendable.

All great representatives of who are people are. Thank you all for applying.
