A Respectful Message to IPDDA and the South Wiru LLG President

We respect the decision of the Ialibu-Pangia District Development Authority (IPDDA) and the South Wiru LLG President not to support the initiative put forward by Pacifica LifeCare Foundation Inc. Everyone has the right to make their own decision, and we respect that.
However, there is one important point I would like both offices to understand.
You are occupying offices that belong to the people of Ialibu-Pangia and South Wiru. These offices carry a responsibility to listen to, acknowledge and support genuine community development initiatives, regardless of who brings the idea forward.
Pacifica LifeCare Foundation Inc. conducted the South Wiru Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Assessment voluntarily, using our own time, resources and approximately 20 volunteers. We went into communities, schools and aid posts to document the real challenges our people are facing.
We did not do this to compete with IPDDA, the LLG or any elected leader. We did it because we believe our people deserve access to safe water, proper sanitation and a healthier environment.
We also understand that IPDDA has provided funding for feasibility studies to a private company for development work in Kewabi LLG. We respect that decision and do not question the right of the authorities to determine how public resources are allocated.
But we equally believe that a voluntary, community-driven initiative should not be ignored simply because it did not originate from government.
Our work is not about Pacifica LifeCare Foundation Inc. It is about children, schools, aid posts, families and communities that continue to struggle for basic water and sanitation services.
We therefore respectfully call on both IPDDA and the South Wiru LLG leadership to keep their doors open to genuine community initiatives and partnerships.
You may choose not to support Pacifica LifeCare Foundation. We respect that decision. But please do not forget that the offices you occupy belong to the people.
Their needs, ideas and aspirations deserve to be heard and considered.
Pacifica LifeCare Foundation Inc. will continue doing our part—with or without support.
