I’m excited to be part of You’re Part of the Story, a new initiative of Lev Leytzan and the Observant Artist Circle.
History will document the events of our time. But unless we preserve them ourselves, future generations may never know what it actually felt like to be Jewish during this moment.
Across the world, Jewish youth and young adults have lived through extraordinary challenges—October 7 and all that followed, rising antisemitism, war, questions of identity and belonging, fear, resilience, hope, and an ever-evolving relationship with their Judaism, Israel, and the global Jewish community.
These experiences deserve to be remembered in their own words.
You’re Part of the Story invites Jewish individuals ages 12–29 to share their stories through journals, artwork, poetry, photography, music, and personal reflections.
Together, these contributions will become a living archive that preserves not only history, but the human experience behind it.
If you know a young Jewish person who has a story to tell—or if your school, university, synagogue, camp, youth group, or organization would like to participate—we would be grateful if you’d help us spread the word.
Every voice matters. Every story becomes part of our collective memory.
Join us in preserving these voices.
