A happy ending, Ronko found his forever home!

Sometimes the stories of the Cinta Costera Cats have a happy ending. This is Ronko. He was abandoned 3 years ago and left on the coastal strip to fend for himself. He never managed to integrate with the other cats and stayed alone by the guard check point. Ronko was domesticated cat that missed and craved human contact. Our group fed him and took care of him for 3 years then something wonderful happened. A couple fell in love with him and took him to his forever home! We are grateful and pray daily that the other stray cats have a similar happy ending. If you would like to contribute to fund the feeding here is the payment information:

Yesterday, Apr22 Guito had blood draw and dental extraction... 4 molars and 2 canines... video is him recovering from anesthesia. Prayers and donations welcome,in order to pay the medical bills (estimated $350) and a forever home for him. He is just such a nice quiet cat who doesn't deserve going back to the streets.

I connected with this wonderful group 3 years ago when I first moved to Panama. The Cinta Costera Cat Rescue is a small group that takes care of the cat colonies of stray cats on the coastal strip. We feed them daily and provide medical care when necessary. All group members are volunteers that give their time and provide food and care at their own expense. Veterinary care is especially expensive, and we can't do it all on our own. Please consider donating so the cats can continue to recieve care. Thank you for your kindness.

Merenguito has reached a critical point.

After days of care, food, and treatment, we are approaching the moment to repeat his lab tests. These results will tell us whether his body is fighting back… or if he’s still struggling to recover.

Behind every small improvement there has been effort, patience, and a strong will to keep going. But there is still uncertainty.

Based on these results, we will have to make a difficult decision:
whether he can return to the colony where he has survived for so many years… or if it’s time to give him something different — a home where he no longer has to fight alone.

None of this would have been possible without the people who have cared, contributed, and asked about him. Thank you for not looking the other way.

The decisions ahead won’t be easy.
But everything we do will be guided by one thing: giving Merenguito the best life possible, for whatever time he has.

ABOUT GUITO…it’s time for his next visit to the vet or for a decision to send him back to the colony. He is doing better with a good appetite and thanks to Diego, the deep cuts on his head are almost healed. He loves the food too. However, he still cannot chew. I’m grinding all of his food into soup. He won’t even chew soft food and his breath smells like something died in it. Please send your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

SOBRE GUITO… ya es momento de su próxima visita al veterinario o de tomar la decisión de regresarlo a la colonia. Está mejorando, tiene buen apetito y, gracias a Diego, los cortes profundos en su cabeza casi han sanado. También le encanta la comida. Sin embargo, todavía no puede masticar. Estoy triturando toda su comida hasta hacerla tipo sopa. Ni siquiera mastica comida blanda y su aliento huele como si algo estuviera mu**to en su boca.

Quizás necesitemos al menos 250 para limpieza dental para Guito .. y quizás necesitemos encontrarle un hogar definitivo para el.
