Fundacion Amigos de Boquete is a humanitarian organization involved in various programs in and around Boquete, Panama.

Since its founding on June 7, 2005, the Amigos de Boquete Foundation (Amigos) has forged a remarkable history of growth and community service. Based on solid principles such as mutual respect and cooperation, Amigos began its work by providing nutritious meals to school children in the Boquete district and participating in renovation projects. Over the years, it has experienced significant development and today feeds more than 2,000 children daily in 14 schools in the district. In addition to its food efforts, the organization also supports parent associations, guaranteeing the payment of cooks and thus strengthening the commitment to the integral well-being of the community in Boquete.

🎂💚 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DALYS DENNIS! CELEBRATING SOMEONE TRULY SPECIAL TO OUR FOUNDATION! 🎉🎈

Today, at Fundación Amigos de Boquete, we celebrate the birthday of someone who has been an essential part of our foundation since the very beginning: our dear Dalys Dennis. ❤️

To speak of Dalys is to speak of dedication, kindness, compassion, generosity, and, above all, a genuine love for our community.

For more than 21 years, Dalys has been one of the pillars of our foundation. Through her dedication to our school nutrition program and her coordination of food distribution to schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and children's shelters, she has helped ensure that our support reaches those who need it most.

Dalys is a familiar and beloved face in the schools we support, not only because of the important work she does, but also because of her gentle nature, warm heart, and unwavering willingness to help others.

Today, we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate her special day alongside her family, coworkers, and closest friends, sharing a beautiful moment filled with friendship, appreciation, and gratitude.

💚 Dear Dalys, thank you for being with us since day one, for your dedication, your kindness, and for being such an important part of the heart and soul of Amigos de Boquete.

We wish you many more years filled with good health, happiness, love, and beautiful memories. 🎄✨ WORKING TOGETHER FOR OUR CHILDREN ✨🎄

A beautiful example of what can happen when a community comes together!

Students from one of the schools supported by Amigos de Boquete Foundation recently organized a special fundraising activity to help raise funds for their upcoming Christmas celebration. 🎁

We were very happy to be part of their initiative by donating the prizes — some sweet treats that added a little extra joy and excitement to the activity. 🍬❤️

We love seeing children, teachers, families, and our community working together toward a common goal. These moments are about much more than fundraising; they encourage participation, teamwork, responsibility, and the joy of helping one another.

🎄 And Christmas is getting closer! Very soon, we will be sharing information about our upcoming Christmas activities and the different ways you can support, participate, volunteer, and join us in making this season special for the children in the schools we support.

❤️ ENDING THE DAY WITH GRATITUDE — CONTAINER #16

Tonight, we end a very busy day with tired hands, full hearts, and the satisfaction of knowing that thousands of meals are now on their way to people who need them.

For more than 21 years, Amigos de Boquete Foundation has remained committed to helping nourish our communities, bringing containers of MannaPack Rice to Panama and ensuring that this food reaches children in schools, families in need, hospitals, senior centers, shelters, and organizations serving vulnerable communities throughout Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro.

Today was another important chapter in that journey with the arrival and distribution of Container #16. ❤️

We are also especially grateful to Ted Hannig, whose continued support helped make it possible to send 10 pallets of MannaPack Rice through Floating Doctors to Bocas del Toro.

Those 10 pallets represent more than 77,000 meals that will help support pregnant mothers living in different communities throughout Bocas del Toro. Proper nutrition during pregnancy can make an important difference in supporting a mother’s health and her baby’s growth and development.

Behind every pallet, every box, and every meal is a person, a family, a child, or a mother.

That is what today was truly about.

After more than 21 years, Amigos de Boquete Foundation continues doing what has always been at the heart of its mission: bringing people together to help feed and support our communities.

To everyone who helped unload, organize, transport, distribute, and make today possible: thank you.

Container #16 is here, its journey has just begun, and we are already looking forward to welcoming Container #17 and continuing this mission of bringing food and hope to those who need it most. ❤️

❤️ CONTAINER #16 HAS ARRIVED! ❤️

Today, September 26, 2026, at 7:00 a.m., we were very excited to welcome Container #16, filled with MannaPack Rice and ready to continue a mission that Amigos de Boquete Foundation has carried forward for more than 21 years.

For over two decades, Amigos de Boquete Foundation has worked to bring food and support to our communities. Through these containers, thousands of meals have reached children in local schools, families in need, and organizations serving vulnerable communities throughout Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro.

The arrival of Container #16 represents another important chapter in this long-standing commitment.

Behind every container is an incredible amount of planning, coordination, organization, and teamwork. From its arrival and unloading to sorting and distributing the food, many hands and many hours of work are involved in making sure the MannaPack Rice reaches the organizations and communities that depend on this support.

And the work is still happening right now. ❤️

Later this afternoon, once today’s distribution has been completed, we will share a new post with more photos, information, and a closer look at the incredible team effort behind Container #16.

We will also introduce you to some of the organizations receiving this food and show you where this important support is going.

For now, we simply want to celebrate the arrival of Container #16 and thank everyone who has helped make another distribution possible.

🌱💚 21 Years of Growing Alongside Our Community

With more than 21 years of service, Amigos de Boquete continues to reach more communities and schools throughout Chiriquí.

Thanks to the dedication and wonderful efforts of our dear Dalys, year after year our children receive fresh vegetables to complement the food we provide throughout the school year. 🥕🥬🍅

Sometimes, no words are needed. 💌 Just seeing their little letters, drawings, and happy smiles reminds us how much these deliveries mean to them and how deeply they appreciate knowing that their community cares.

🌱 If you are a farmer or local producer and would like to donate fresh fruits, vegetables, or other products to our schools, we would love to hear from you. Every contribution, big or small, can make a meaningful difference in a child’s day.

Last Saturday, we gathered in Boquete to celebrate the life of a very special man, Philip Palmer McGuigan.

Thanks to his beloved wife, Alicia McGuigan, Phil's closest friends came together to share stories, laughter and memories, honoring a man who dedicated so much of his life in Panama to helping others.

Phil was a philanthropist, a volunteer, a leader and, above all, a man who believed deeply in giving back.

After a successful career as an attorney in Chicago, Phil and Alicia made Boquete their home for 16 years. Here, Phil found a new purpose: connecting people, organizations and resources to improve the lives of others.

As a longtime board member of Amigos de Boquete Foundation, Phil helped develop programs supporting schools, children, families and organizations. Dallys Dennis worked alongside Phil for many years, and today she continues that work together with Cary Gordon at Amigos de Boquete Foundation, helping carry forward the legacy Phil helped build.

Phil's impact reached far beyond Boquete. He strongly supported Floating Doctors in Bocas del Toro and donated the red boat that helped medical teams reach remote Indigenous communities with doctors, medicine and essential supplies.

He also understood the importance of supporting those who serve and protect our communities. Phil helped provide two fire trucks—one to Boquete and the Cambria fire truck to David—as well as a generator to support firefighters and police. He supported local municipalities with laptops, cameras and other equipment, and throughout the years helped fulfill many requests from organizations and communities in need.

His compassion extended to animals as well. Together with Javier Madge, Phil was one of the founders of DogCamp Boquete Foundation, helping create a safe place for rescued and abandoned animals.

His remarkable second chapter in life was even recognized by Forbes, which shared the story of how Phil transformed his retirement in Panama into a life dedicated to community service.

But Phil's legacy cannot be measured simply in boats, fire trucks, generators, computers, containers, food or supplies.

His true legacy is measured in the lives he touched and in the people who continue his work today.

Phil loved Boquete, and Boquete loved Phil.

To Alicia, thank you for sharing Phil with our community and for bringing his friends together to celebrate his extraordinary life.

And to Phil, thank you for showing us that when we see a need, we can always find a way to help.

Your work continues. Your example remains. And your legacy will always be part of Boquete. ❤️

Amigos de Boquete Foundation continues to expand and forge meaningful partnerships. 🐾✨

We are deeply honored to have welcomed the President and the District Governor of Rotary for an inspiring visit. This collaborative meeting allowed us to share our organizational journey, the profound impact of over 21 years of dedicated service supporting vulnerable communities across Chiriquí, Bocas del Toro, and the indigenous comarcas, as well as our strategic vision for the future.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dalys and Magaly for delivering an exceptional presentation that fostered dynamic brainstorming, connection, and a comprehensive overview of our operations. We also thank the entire Rotary leadership team for their enthusiasm, willingness to engage, and shared commitment to our mission.

Nurturing the Future of Boquete: More Than a Meal, An Opportunity to Thrive

For 21 years, at Amigos de Boquete Foundation, we have firmly believed that education and child well-being begin with proper nutrition. No child should have to learn on an empty stomach.

Thanks to the commitment of our community and our supporters, our impact goes far beyond the classroom:
* Over 2,000 children benefited daily with nutritious breakfasts and lunches in every school.
* 19 jobs created, providing a steady monthly income for local cooks who prepare every meal with care.
* A monthly investment of $2,500 during the 10 months of the school year to purchase essential supplemental foods (pasta, oil, milk, tuna, grains, and more), ensuring a well-balanced diet.
* Distribution of Manna Pack rice to various schools and organizations across Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro.

Additionally, we are excited to share that we will soon be launching a new nutrition project to reach even more families in need.

Supporting the Growth of Proyecto Comarca

At the Amigos de Boquete Foundation and DogCamp Home Decor, we are honored to continue our collaboration with Proyecto Comarca. Over the past few weeks, we have had the privilege of supporting their ongoing initiatives with donations aimed at fostering development and well-being for the children and youth of the community.

Our recent contributions include:

Nutritional support: Two weeks ago, the Amigos de Boquete Foundation delivered a large supply of milk, alongside Manapak fortified rice, to support the nutrition of the children in the program. These items were collected thanks to the generous contributions received at our Amigos de Boquete offices and the DogCamp Home Decor store.

Essential household supplies: DogCamp Home Decor donated a large quantity of blankets and kitchen utensils to provide comfort and support for the daily needs of the families within the project.

Art through music: Thanks to a generous donation from Cary Gordon of the Amigos de Boquete Foundation, we delivered a guitar so that students in Proyecto Comarca, under the guidance of teacher Carlos Ortega, can explore their creativity and musical talent.

Empowering local entrepreneurship: DogCamp Home Decor donated a Singer sewing machine to help the young women in the community start their own small business projects, fostering independence and economic growth.

Every action makes a difference, and it is thanks to your constant support that we can continue to assist the wonderful work being done by Proyecto Comarca.
