Great to see practitioners travelling from across the motu to take part in this training. A strong reflection of the value they place on ethnic-specific frameworks to better support their communities.

On 27 February, cultural facilitators Pastors Teremoana Tauira and Kitiona Tauira led the first Cook Islands Tūranga Māori training for 2026, bringing together practitioners committed to strengthening culturally grounded support for Pacific families.

A micro-credential is a short, recognised qualification that focuses on specific skills and knowledge. This programme is at Level 6 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (the same level as a diploma) and awards 20 credits.

More trainings are coming up — check out the link to learn more and register: https://ngavaka.nz/training/micro-credential-professional-development/

As we are now approaching the festive season, Christmas and New Year, please families do look after our households.
Because these are happy days, but problems and accidents still arise now and then.
Please be watchful. Take care of your family, reach out to them, or even call them by phone.
That will assure you that they are okay.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

To our communities, we remain grateful and humbled to be closing out this year alongside you. Thank you to the many leaders, supporters, champions that have worked with us this year.

Over the Christmas period, our team will be taking a short break to rest and recharge, so we can be back ready to continue the work in the new year. Our offices reopen on Monday 5 January 2026.

Until then, we are wishing you all a safe and joyful Christmas filled with connection, care and hope.
