🏆 CHAMPIONS CUP 2026 — GOLD COAST 🏆

A massive congratulations to the following Whangārei Rohe players on their selections to represent League Kings Academy and Lockin Official at the Champions Cup on the Gold Coast this November! 🇦🇺🏉

The Champions Cup brings together some of the very best rugby league academies from across Australia and New Zealand, giving talented young players the opportunity to compete and test themselves against quality opposition.

What an incredible opportunity for our rangatahi to head across the ditch, represent with pride and put their skills to the test on a bigger stage.

You’ve earned this opportunity — now go over there, back yourselves, enjoy every moment and show them what you can do.
Go be great! 💙💛

🔥 Congratulations to our selected players🔥

Gold Coast, here they come! 🇳🇿 ✈️ 🇦🇺

💙💛 A SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO OUR TWO WĀHINE TOA! 💙💛

We want to give a massive shout-out to two incredible young ladies who represented Whangārei Rohe over the weekend.
🔥 Taylynn Rowe & Nala Pickering 🔥

These two girls deserve all the recognition! Not only were these two the only girls but how amazing did they do to hold their own, they went head-to-head with some seriously big boys, some twice their size, and never once backed down!
Playing against some tough opposition over the weekend, these girls showed incredible strength, courage, determination and heart. They proved that size means NOTHING when you've got the passion and fight to match! 💪🏽

Unfortunately, this marks their final year competing alongside the boys, as they now move on to an all-girls team. But what a way to finish this chapter!

Girls, you should be SO PROUD of yourselves! You left everything out on that field, took on some massive challenges and showed everyone exactly what you're capable of.

We are incredibly proud of you both, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for you two.

Keep breaking barriers, keep pushing boundaries.

👏🏽🏉 Outstanding mahi, girls!

💙💛 WHANGĀREI ROHE – NGĀ MIHI NUI! 💛💙
As our whānau begin their journey home, we would like to wish everyone safe travels. We hope you all arrive home safely after an incredible weekend of rugby league! 🏉

Once again, we would like to extend a massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this journey possible for our tamariki.

A special thank you to our amazing sponsors:

🚐 Bream Bay College – Thank you for sponsoring our vans and helping get our teams around .

PAK'nSAVE Whangārei – Thank you for sponsoring our kai and making sure our tamariki were well fed throughout the weekend.

To all our sponsors, supporters, parents, coaches, volunteers and whānau, we cannot thank you enough. Without your generosity, contributions and ongoing support, we wouldn't have been able to provide our tamariki with the experience they had.
This weekend was about more than just rugby league.
It was about bringing our whānau together, creating memories and giving our tamariki opportunities and experiences they'll carry with them.
From all of us at Whangārei Rohe, thank you for being part of our journey.
Safe travels home, whānau! 💙💛

⚡ U11 BEST BACK – NATE VOSS
Our little blond bullet.
The littlest player on the team, but don't let his size fool you! You could spot that bright blonde hair from a mile away. Small in size but an absolute bullet on the field!

🌿 CULTURAL AWARD – KURAWHITI FA'ATAU-MANGU

This award goes beyond the footy field. Kurawhiti carried the mana of our rohe throughout the tournament, leading our karakia, blessing our kai and bringing everyone together. Representing our culture, our values and our whanaungatanga. An amazing example of what it means to represent Whangārei Rohe!

💙💛 TO OUR TROPHY RECIPIENTS
You all brought something special to your teams this weekend. From powerful runs and incredible defence to leadership, energy, culture and heart, you have made your rohe proud.
These awards recognise individual efforts, but behind every recipient stands an entire team that worked hard for one another.
