Students Lobbying Against Police Terrorism is a place for those who have been victims to or witness of unacceptable, uncalled for acts of police brutality. This is a place for those of us who wish to voice legitimate concerns, so as to assist our country to eventually develop a police force that is respected by all NewZealanders, especially the youth. S.L.A.P.T puts on youth events for the age gro
up which tends to get in the most trouble with police at night, 14 to 18 year olds. At these events we discuss and practice various ways of behaving around police both to encourage friendliness and to discourage violence and convict officers who engage in inappropriate violence. For our future youth to grow up in a world where police are the good guys, where if the police arrive at a party or similar the normal reaction is to smile and say hello and actively want to chat, not burst into violent offensiveness and mass hysteria something needs to be done to stop officers from doing things which are damaging to the reputation of the police force and for any officers found to have been involved in any such behaviour to be charged and stood down without pay for a full investigation of the matter/s. We want good cops. We expect good cops. We demand good cops. Spread your stories and let's get as many people as we can supporting this page and its vision, for this is surely more effective at solving police brutality than throwing bottles, etc, etc. We do not want to FTP, we want to empower them to empower the nation, and to earn an ever improving reputation for themselves and a well earned respect from all of us.
