Good morning everyone, I hope you are well. Not long until Christmas!

A few of my thoughts from Canada have been captured in the latest addition of Horizon magazine.

If you’re not familiar - it’s pretty much NZ’s go to mental health mag, so definitely check it out!

I do apologise for the wordy post and touchy subject this Tuesday morning - but this is REALLY IMPORTANT. I would love to hear from you in my dms about your thoughts on digital mental health solutions, and the role of AI.

Don’t forget YOUR voice matters and you (as people with lived experience) are just as important in building digital mental health solutions as the technicians themselves.

You know I’ve been passionate about digital solutions for a long time, but they HAVE to be done right. Please do reach out with any thoughts you have on this!

I also want you to know, there are so many amazing people working on solutions. I have every confidence in them that we are on the right track, but the lived experience community must be in the centre of it all ❤️💙💜🩷🩵

Sending love to everyone struggling this Christmas.

If you’ve got someone in your life who is having a tough time, here are some ways you can show love. 🖤

I’m very excited to share that I am joining the board of The Samaritans Group Wellington.

The Samaritans have been providing support to New Zealanders for 60 years. They’re a free, confidential, 24/7 emotional support service for anyone in distress, loneliness or despair.

They serve as an non-judgemental ear for those in need.

The Samaritans would not be anything with out the amazing volunteers helping people in their community. It is a privilege to support their mission.

I have always been passionate about digital mental health support, because of my lived experience where accessing in person support was fragmented, inconsistent and almost impossible!

I strongly believe digital services help bridge the acces and equity gap, and will only ever elevate the system - not replace it.

One thing to keep in mind this Christmas though, is that some peoples only contact or communication will be to a support line. Be aware of this and how difficult the holiday period can be for so many, and if you can - give back. It can be so rewarding ❤️

To the Samaritan’s - I’m so excited to see what we will achieve together in 2026!

Hi everyone!! I hope you’ve all had a great start to the week.

Only 5 weeks until Christmas can you believe it?? 🫨

Sorry it’s been a while since I last checked in but it’s been a busy time and I have some good news to share.

I’m about to board my flight to Canada to head back for the eMental Health International Collaborative Congress where over 40 countries are coming together to share ideas, lessons and insights about how we can utilise digital interventions in our mental health systems across the world.

A great friend of mine says that when it comes to mental health, every country is a developing country and that is very true. I think this is especially the case when it comes to digital interventions…. But the more we know, the more we can do!

I’m really excited to continue to learn from our friends overseas and see what nuggets of gold we can bring back home to NZ.

Hope you are all keeping well. Looking forward to sharing some of the stuff happening in Canada.

We are still fighting the good fight! 👊

Last week I was a very lucky girl and got to launch my book ‘The Best is Yet to Come’ at New Zealand Parliament.

Once again I was incredibly humbled by the support of everyone who came, including many MPs. Thank you. I know you all care about this as much as I do - and that gives me great hope for the future.

I want to thank the host, New Zealand’s first Minister for Mental Health .dooceymp for making this possible. I hope he doesn’t mind me saying this, but there were a few tears over the night. I think it just resembles how much it means to us all to have happy and healthy families.

I’m also very proud to announce that all author proceeds from the book will be going to charity run by the amazing and . So if you buy a book - just know that’s a way for you to make a difference too.

It’s really important to me that the proceeds go towards something meaningful - and I know that Jazz and Gen are making a big difference to young people.

Thank you to everyone who has written in and sent messages so far. Some people have shared their personal stories from over 50 years ago! You all remind me that when we are vulnerable we can encourage others to be too.

I want to thank you to for all of the support over the years. It all started when I visited her as a constituent in my time of need many years ago...

Thanks to the team at for all of the support. Especially to Bill and Di 💛

To my partner , my Mummy , little bro John and little sis - we are all we need! ❤️

The biggest thanks of all, to and for everything you’ve both done for me, and for being the best cool sissy sisters a girl could ask for. You girls are rockstars - never forget it.

For anyone going through a tough time - I hope this book can remind you that it’s only ever temporary (no matter how bad it is at the time).

For everyone out there this Sunday eve - give you Mummies, Daddies, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunties, grandparents and friends the biggest squeeze possible.

As always, thank you ❤️

We are just getting started….

For anyone who needs to hear this tonight. ❤️

Hi everyone,

I’ve got some exciting (and very nerve-wracking news). I wrote a book… who would have thought?

‘The Best is Yet to Come’ is available in stores this Sunday.

This has been a long process that has brought about happy and challenging times, but I hope it creates a difference - even if small.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me over the years. You know how much you mean to me, and my family.

I’m excited to announce that all author proceeds will be going towards su***de prevention in New Zealand.

We all go through tough times, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Miss you now and always Dad.

Love,
Grace x

Happy happy Mo-season everyone!!! Can’t believe we are nearly at the end of the month already!

Last week the Mo-crew made their way to Parliament for a bit of fun…

We kicked off the morning with a breakfast, and then held a move for Movember relay where our team ‘Parliament 24’ did 60kms across the morning to signify the men we lose to su***de every minute.

It was super exciting that we had one of the founders of Movember - Travis Garone here on NZ soil too! For those that don’t know the original story of how Movember came to be, I suggest you check it out - because it is hilarious!

Thanks so much .dooceymp for being our host - and to all the MPs and staff that put a good session in - I hope the legs aren’t too sore!!

While we had a few laughs, we also had a few D&M’s about how we can support the Mo-bros in our life. As always - it is okay, not to be okay!

Happy Movember everyone, hope you are getting amongst it! 🥸🥸🥸🥸

Love from a Mo-sister!

My brain is EXPLODING after today. So many amazing speakers and incredible ideas shared across 30+ countries (ones that actually work…)

I feel so lucky to be here, but the next step is to get some cool s**t done back at home!!

I have one day left at the Congress in Canada, then back home to the mainland 🇳🇿

Sending everyone aroha for the day ahead 🤍

Today’s FULL DAY session with UNICEF has left me feeling very hopeful for the future of New Zealand’s Mental Health system, something I know we have not felt at times…

Many of the issues we have at home - are the same anywhere you go. But luckily, the solutions have no geopolitical boundaries either, so we can use all of the expertise from all over the world to fix (at least some of) our problems, and move forward ensuring everyone has suitable, and sustainable access to mental health services.

Also - I may need some physio for my hands after all the typing I did today 😅🥴🫨

Hope everyone is having a good day x

Forever 26 years young. Today would have been Laura’s 27th birthday. Words can’t explain how much she is missed, having left us a month ago. She was a beautiful light, and an unapologetic, self-proclaimed comedian. Which is what we loved about her.

Laura was the first to help anyone who needed it - she helped me so much through my darkest days after Dad passed, and so whether she’s here in person or spirit, I’ll forever be indebted to her.

Today, I’m meeting with the team at Kids Help Phone, Canada who provide mental health support to over 20 million people.

I have a heavy heart, but feel like Laura is here with me.

To anyone struggling - know that there are SO many people who would do anything to have you here, especially on your birthday. Please reach out, please talk to the people you love, and please stay here with everyone who loves you🤍
