Tihei kids getting ready for Iron Maori🫡

29/07/2026

Tonight was a special one for our Tihei Rangatahi Naenae whānau.

We had the opportunity to bring our rangatahi and their whānau together for a whānau evening, giving us the chance to introduce ourselves, share what Tihei Rangatahi is all about, and show the amazing mahi our tamariki have been involved in.

As we’ve only recently opened our Tihei Rangatahi hub here in Naenae, it was awesome to finally meet so many of our whānau, have a kōrero, make new connections, and continue building those relationships together.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along tonight. Your support means a lot to us, and we truly appreciate the trust you place in us to walk alongside your tamariki.

Kia ora,

Reminder No Tihei in Wainui today.

We are inviting all whānau to come along Thursday night 5pm-7pm for our whānaungatanga evening at Wainuiomata Marae.

Great chance to meet the kaimahi and hear about all the amazing activities we do with your tamariki.

We will have a digital art exhibition that the tamariki have been working on this term as well as a shared hangi for dinner!

Looking forward to seeing you,

Nga mihi,
Tihei Rangatahi Kaimahi.

Over the last couple weeks our Tihei Rangatahi kids have been putting in the yards, getting out for 2–3km walks and runs as they prepare to take on this year’s IronMāori Triathlon in Napier.

Every year we take our TIHEI kids away on a camp, and this year we thought we’d step outside our comfort zone and give them an opportunity to challenge themselves, create lifelong memories, and experience something new together.

Of course, it won’t be all training and racing—we’ll also make the most of our time in beautiful Napier with plenty of fun activities along the way.

⚫️🟢 Hikohiko te Uira is at it again with a celebration of motion, identity, and celestial connection. Through flickering animation, radiant colour, and symbolic storytelling, it transforms Matariki into a living storm of light, a reminder that the stars are not distant objects, but active ancestors guiding people through memory, transformation, and renewal.
