⚫️🟢 Hikohiko te Uira is at it again with a celebration of motion, identity, and celestial connection. Through flickering animation, radiant colour, and symbolic storytelling, it transforms Matariki into a living storm of light, a reminder that the stars are not distant objects, but active ancestors guiding people through memory, transformation, and renewal.

⚫️🟢 Hikohiko te Uira is moving forward with Procreate, building confidence in mastering layers and exploring a wide variety of brushes to create dynamic and expressive digital artwork. This journey encourages creativity, experimentation, and the development of new artistic techniques.

⚫️🟢 "Papā te whatitiri, hikohiko te uira"
Our tamariki have recently begun an exciting creative journey into digital artistry, using Procreate to develop their self-portraits. This project has opened up a new world of digital expression as they move beyond the traditional canvas.
Key Learning Milestones:
Mastering Layers: The children are learning how to organize their work by separating outlines, skin tones, and backgrounds—a fundamental concept in digital workflow.
Brush Exploration: From texture to sleek digital inks, they are experimenting with a variety of brushes to capture their unique features and personalities.
It has been wonderful to see their digital literacy grow alongside their self-awareness as they translate their reflections into vibrant, multi-layered masterpieces..

⚫️🟢 The term is off to an electric start at Hikohiko te Uira! We’ve dived straight into the world of digital art, introducing our tamariki to the creative power of Procreate.

It’s been inspiring to watch our young artists explode onto the digital canvas, exploring new tools and textures with ease. From bold brushwork to intricate designs, the artistic flare on display is incredible. We can’t wait to see their masterpieces evolve as the term progresses!
