This afternoon “Christmas in July” came early 😊…
The steel frames arrived on site thanks to Martin Robinson from Steel It Limited who gifted them towards the build of the new toilet block.

So all is ready for the start of installation on Monday 👏👏

Thank you team! We wish you and all the Kapiti Community a safe, warm and restful weekend 🫶

These guys from Tana NZ didn’t have a cosy, warm office to work out of today.
Instead they were out braving it at Mazengarb Park as works continued to get the new toilet block built.
The scaffold has been put up so all is ready for the frames to start being erected on Monday.
A massive THANK YOU to you for your amazing work and ongoing commitment to this community project!
Tana NZ Ltd are part of a team of awesome Kapiti businesses offering their services for free.
We hope your crew got themselves a well-deserved hot shower and hearty, warm winter meal tonight 😊 👍

The progress continues thanks to the Kapiti TEAM SPIRIT that keeps fronting up 🙌

We are all aware that times are tough but these crews are part of the many that are making it happen!

A big shout out to…

Reliable Foundations New Zealand LTD preparing the new toilet foundation, donating their time and the materials required for free.

Pillar Projects Limited carrying out the inspection as laid under the building code.

Firth Industries donating concrete for the foundation.

AND by the end of the day…

Thank you to you all for your incredible skills and support!

I think it would be safe to say that for most businesses and their employees, Mondays are always flat out, challenging and getting ready to gear up for another week of productivity and servicing their customers’ needs.
Despite this, today showed that generosity and the Kapiti community spirit still prevails.

In the words of Mal Bird, “Today has been a busy day” for the teams working on the GOLF FOR GOOD Mini Golf project at Mazengarb Park.
THANK YOU to you all and please know your support and contribution to this Kapiti Community project does not go unnoticed 🙌

The Peter Jackson Plumbing Limited team installed the in-ground services for the new toilet and Plumbing World has donated all the required fittings.

ANB Diggers and Everiss Civil laid the sub-base slab ready for the foundation to start.

The Engineers from Kāpiti Coast District Council and Pillar Projects Limited have carried out the necessary inspection.

The steel frames build got underway for the toilet extension - and as you can see from their group photo - the team from Steel It Limited are very proud to be supporting this Top Up Kapiti Project 😊👍

St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) is a growing, thriving group of 36 active members. Most play an active part in the parish of Our Lady of Kapiti as well as being in public roles while their faithful work happens quietly in the background.
The changing face and growing diversity of our community brings challenges as they learn to respond to the different experiences and needs of those around us.

Vinnies members are currently involved in visiting people in the Kapiti Community, distributing food parcels, collecting and distributing furniture and household items, supporting refugees, helping the homeless and rough sleepers, preparing and serving a meal once a month to residents of Mary's Guest House, supporting students with costs towards uniforms, and delivering bread and fruit vouchers for student lunches.

Over the past three months, Vinnies has made about 300 visits to people in our community and distributed approximately 200 food parcels - over 4,000 items.

Vinnies would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the wonderful local businesses and organisations that recently contributed to the generous donations of canned food, pasta and fish:
TOP UP KAPITI
PAK 'N SAVE
TWO FAT CHEFS
STARFISH KAPITI
And for their generous donation and support, THANK YOU Kapiti Mayor Janet Holborow and KCDC.

Vinnies was able to give back to the community by way of preparing food parcels with these food items (together with some delicious home-baking made with a lot of TLC by their members) and delivering them to the Pensioners in KCDC flats in Otaki, Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Paekakariki.

Vinnies helps where needed so If you are interested in finding out more about what they do, perhaps you feel you may be able to assist them or it may be that you or someone you know needs help? Whatever the reason, please know you are welcome to reach out and contact them either via email: [email protected] or
phone: 028 423 1838.

Day 2 was not a typical Friday when most are winding down at the end of another big week.
Instead It was all hands on deck, service with a smile AND…
a bit of muscle helped too 😁💪

Today was all about more site preparations for the new toilet facility…

Removal of the iron sheets on the side of the Kiosk.
✅ Totalspan New Zealand

In-ground services prep for the new toilet.
✅ Peter Jackson Plumbing

Site protection system set up and plans to set up a camera to help protect the Croquet Club (as their lawnmower was recently stolen)
✅ CLIFF GOTT - a big thank you to SECURE TIME for the offer.

Profile and temporary weather protection systems set up.
✅ GRANT SCAIFE of LUMBER HOMES with help from MARK HAWKEN

Installation prep of the new garden edge broads.
✅ LIAM from HOWSE CONTRACTORS.

Top Up Kapiti is beyond grateful for your contribution to the community and making all this possible - their time, workforce, service and skills have all been donated 🙏

Happy Friday with continuing progress as our friends from Totalspan New Zealand remove the wall sheeting 😊👍

When the Kapiti Coast called for another place to have some community entertainment and fun, this happened….
Golf for Good

But when “nature called” Mal Bird decided this had to happen….on-site toilet facilities with a bonus…built for free! Thanks to the combined effort and generosity of some big hearted local trades and businesses.

The team from Everiss Civil arrived on site this morning at 7.30am to install the safety fences around the proposed new toilet for Projects for Good (Kapiti Rotary and Lions Club of Kapiti Inc).

A big thank you to Dig Deep Gardens & Landscaping who removed the existing gardens in preparation for the new foundations to be laid.

This is the first project (and hopefully the start of many) that Top Up Kapiti and Kāpiti Coast District Council have undertaken with the help of the designers and contractors who have donated their time, workforce and skills to turn this need into a reality.

Kapiti Coasters… watch this space! AND in the words of Mal Bird…”We are underway!” 👏👏👍👍

Another positive example of the strengthening relationships that are being built in Kapiti.
The wonderful representatives of St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) are all smiles as they thank Mayor Janet Holborow for her support and the support of Kāpiti Coast District Council
The extent that Vinnies go to in order to support those in need knows no bounds and is truly from the heart.

These bags of goodies include an assortment of fruit, veges, seafood, canned goods, pasta and homemade treats baked by Vinnies themselves!
No doubt they will bring a few smiles to faces and a bright moment to their day 😊

We love to see the positive result of all our community caring, sharing and giving 🥰
