St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) is a growing, thriving group of 36 active members. Most play an active part in the parish of Our Lady of Kapiti as well as being in public roles while their faithful work happens quietly in the background.
The changing face and growing diversity of our community brings challenges as they learn to respond to the different experiences and needs of those around us.
Vinnies members are currently involved in visiting people in the Kapiti Community, distributing food parcels, collecting and distributing furniture and household items, supporting refugees, helping the homeless and rough sleepers, preparing and serving a meal once a month to residents of Mary's Guest House, supporting students with costs towards uniforms, and delivering bread and fruit vouchers for student lunches.
Over the past three months, Vinnies has made about 300 visits to people in our community and distributed approximately 200 food parcels - over 4,000 items.
Vinnies would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the wonderful local businesses and organisations that recently contributed to the generous donations of canned food, pasta and fish:

STARFISH KAPITI
And for their generous donation and support, THANK YOU Kapiti Mayor Janet Holborow and KCDC.
Vinnies was able to give back to the community by way of preparing food parcels with these food items (together with some delicious home-baking made with a lot of TLC by their members) and delivering them to the Pensioners in KCDC flats in Otaki, Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Paekakariki.
Vinnies helps where needed so If you are interested in finding out more about what they do, perhaps you feel you may be able to assist them or it may be that you or someone you know needs help? Whatever the reason, please know you are welcome to reach out and contact them either via email: [email protected] or
phone: 028 423 1838.
