Can you believe it's already been 2 weeks?! 🤯

On 11 May, we opened our doors and welcomed the Hurricanes Poua into our whare as their new home for the 2026 season, and to mark the occasion they gifted their jersey to Te Kupenga. Now it's proudly hanging up for everyone to see every single day. 🏉✨

Moments like this are exactly what makes our community so special. The pride, the mana, the connection between sport and whānau. It was all there in that room, and now it lives here with us permanently.

Next time you're in, take a moment to look up. That jersey isn't just a piece of fabric. It's a reminder of what we're all part of together. 🖤💛

Last night the Hutt Valley NZDA (New Zealand Deerstalkers Association) were in for their AGM, great group of people, relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of good conversation flowing before things got official. 🙌

Did you know their regular club nights are open to everyone? Whether you're a hunter, curious about the outdoors, or just after a fun and friendly night out, all are welcome.

🌀 Big night for the Upper Hutt Junior Rams! 🏉

Our young rugby stars got up close with some of the Hurricanes squad tonight, and let's just say the drills, the laughs, and the autograph queues did NOT disappoint! 🙌

Signatures in hand and big smiles all round. Safe to say the kids will be sleeping well tonight! 🧡

A huge thank you to the Hurricanes players who gave their time to inspire the next generation of Upper Hutt rugby talent. You made some very special memories tonight. 💪🏉

One of our own is heading to Darwin this week to represent New Zealand at the Oceania Athletics Championships in javelin, and we couldn't be more proud!

Becs Bailey, you are not just an incredible athlete, you are part of our whānau here at Te Kupenga o Rongomai, and watching you carry the silver fern onto that field is something we will be cheering loudly for all the way from Upper Hutt! 📣🇳🇿

We are so lucky to have you in our work family, Becs. Your mahi, your heart, and your dedication inspire everyone around you every single day.

Today we opened our doors to some very special guests 🌀🏉

We are so proud to welcome the Hurricanes Poua to Te Kupenga o Rongomai, their new whare for the 2026 Super Rugby Aupiki season and beyond!

The team came through Maidstone Park today for the first time as our community partners, and with our mayor Peri Zee there to welcome them, it really felt like the whole community was saying you belong here. 🖤🟡

All of their home games this season will be played right here in Upper Hutt:

🖤 Sat 18 July | v Chiefs Manawa
