We have an exciting event coming to Russell on Saturday 27 June and we’d love the community to get behind it.

Rumble in Russell will see the Parliamentary Rugby Team take on the Rugby for Life Invitational Team, bringing some fantastic people and influential visitors into the Bay for the weekend. It’s a great opportunity to showcase everything Russell and the wider Bay of Islands has to offer.

There are lots of ways local businesses and the community can get involved:
• Accommodation providers and local businesses — use the attached flyer across your social media channels, promote your accommodation availability, or create special offers and dining experiences for the weekend.
• Cafés, restaurants and bars — this is a great chance to put on weekend specials, showcase local hospitality and encourage visitors to stay and explore a little longer.
• Community — come along, support the teams, enjoy the atmosphere and be part of the community spirit that Rugby for Life is all about. It’s set to be a fantastic family afternoon out, with activities for the kids, food, entertainment and plenty of sideline energy.

Events like this are about more than just rugby — they bring people together, create vibrancy for the town and give us the opportunity to proudly showcase Russell and the Bay of Islands at its best.
We’d love to see the community rally behind it and help make it a memorable weekend for everyone involved.

Business Bay of Islands members get the chance to pitch, promote and proudly boast about their business. It’s your chance to make connections, gain customers, and spread the word about what you do – all over a great breakfast.

If you want to you’ll have two uninterrupted minutes to pitch your business, share your unique selling proposition, and grab the attention of fellow members. After that, enjoy informal networking over a great breakfast.

Come on down for a coffee or breakfast. There is a special on the buffet, normally $35, but $29.50 for this breakfast. Breakfast is at your own expense.

Its a lovely warm venue for winter! We would love to see you there - all welcome, bring a friend!

Copthorne have introduced a new sustainability initiative, designed to help reduce single-use cup waste, lower consumable costs, support sustainability goals, and encourage engagement with guests and customers.
The new offers include:
• A $1 discount on all large hot drinks purchased on hotel premises when customers bring their own reusable cup.
• Reusable cups (Vittoria travel cups) available for purchase at all hotels for $12.00.
• Customers who purchase a reusable cup from the hotel will receive their first large hot drink in their new cup free of charge.

Its great to be a part of these meetings, collaborating with FNDC and all the Far North Business Associations. Really positive and an initiative we want to keep going!

We host a quarterly meeeting for our Far North Business Association Chairs Forum and caught up on Monday in Chambers.

The hui focussed on community safety, awesome mahi the associations have been leading on regional CCTV, our Citycare contract, emergency and weather event readiness, local procurement and tourism infrastructure.
